WASHINGTON – Sen. Scott Brown says he thinks former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is qualified to be president but right now he's supporting former Gov. Mitt Romney for the 2012 Republican nomination.

As for his own ambitions, he say "absolutely in 2012" he's ruling out any run for the presidency. And in an interview broadcast Friday on NBC, Brown said "I'm not even going to jump" at a question about whether he would seek the presidency.

I’m gonna cut Scott slack on this one. He’s from MA, so he may feel he has to initially support the hometown boy. Let’s see how the race develops.

Oh...I get it...maybe he does like Sarah but have to say Romney as his choice since Romney sort of helped him in the election.

Romney had my attention, until he announced at a Press Conference that he would congratulate Obama on pushing Obamacare through - he would have been better off announcing that he likes to BBQ puppies, babies and little kittens.

Looks like the polling says a Romney-Brown ticket will send Obama back to Kenya.

<< I’m gonna cut Scott slack on this one. He’s from MA, so he may feel he has to initially support the hometown boy. >>

Don’t jump ugly on me, but why are we willing to give Scott some slack but not give Romney the same consideration?

That is to say, as a governor of Massachussetts, Romney HAD to do things for his constituency that would be considered WAY liberal of what we would expect from him if he served as POTUS.

I’m not saying I WANT the guy — clearly, there are better conservative options — but since he’s got a better than good chance of being our next president, I’m trying to find a reason to be encouraged by him.

After all, doing liberal things as a governor of Massachusetts is not exactly “man bites dog.”

His whole state party, including his and Romney’s shared handlers, are geared up for a once-in-a-couple-of-lifetimes chance for one of theirs to take them to the White House. And he’s a squishy, Romney-Collins-Snowe type Northeastern Pubbie anyway.

But at least he’s civil and smart enough to be respectful (from afar) to Palin.

For me, I find Scott Brown quite likable and charimatic. A natural politician and Presidential candidate.

Romney? Not so much.

I am supporting Palin if she runs. That being said, my advice to everyone:

Don’t get worked up on ‘who’ supports ‘whom’ in the Republican Pres primaries. Support whomever you feel is the most honest and sincere in carrying out the conservative agenda once elected to office. In the end, we will need to support whomever gets the nomination if you are really worked up about the POS we have in office now.

Amen to that. I see too many posts on here saying “I’m walking if Romney is the nominee.” No better way to hand the election over to the communists than to sit out. I find myself wondering if the libs have posters who get on here just to stir the pot and try to divide consercatives.

So lets make sure that Romney is not the candidate...so that won’t happen

can tea party people rally around Romney? it will deflate the enthusiasm

I do not like Romney either. We will see how things play out, but I will not stay home and let the Kenyan do another 4 years of irreversable damage to this great nation. Obama must be sent back to Kenya in 2012.

Romney was his seed money, early backer, and had a history in the state. I have no issue with this, myself.

It would be nice if ALL the presidential wannabees would find a way to “take care” of their regions, with respect to the 2010 election. Provided we have elections. meh

I’ve got no problem with Romney taking care of our candidates in NE.

No problem with the Huckster campaigning for our neighbors in the South.

Good deal for Pawlenty to deal with our peeps in the upper midwest.

Sarah can hit cleanup.

:)
