What went wrong with Brady in IL? He was ahead for months, and sometimes by a large margin. It almost seemed certain he would win while Kirk was tied or even trailing. Kirk ended up winning by a margin slightly beyond where they could steal it but Brady fell short apparently. I thought after Blagojevich there was dissatisfaction with Quinn so people in IL wanted a change.

hope I awake to good news! :o)

As of this early hour no decision made however Malloy has already gotten his transition team in order. Smells to high heaven.

Ridiculous. FOX shows the Dem as having fewer votes, but as the winner. Where was Barone on election night? He was the best that FOX had for election coverage.

No. It is called social justice math. A term I heard used at a conference sponsored by the Department of Education.

Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz said that Malloy won by an unofficial margin of 3,100 votes — and that state law allows recounts in statewide races only when the margin is lower than 2,000 votes.

But the Associated Press said late Wednesday night that its vote count now shows Foley with a lead of 8,424 votes over Malloy, with all but 1.5 percent of the precincts counted. Based on that count, the AP said, it was withdrawing its call of Malloy as the winner.

Bysiewicz did not reveal the exact totals for the candidates in each town, saying they would not be available until today.

Adding to the controversy, Foley said Wednesday that he was forming a transition team to smooth the way for taking office — on the same day Malloy announced his own transition team.

Despite Foley’s actions, Malloy told reporters several times at the state Capitol that he is confident he will be sworn in as the next governor on Jan. 5.

“I’m standing by those numbers,” Malloy said, adding that he believes he won by more than 11,000 votes. “I’m confident that will stand up.”

Casting further doubt on the numbers, political insiders said Wednesday night that the vote counts for Malloy in Bridgeport and New Haven could have been too high by thousands of votes — meaning that Foley could have scored better in those Democratic-dominated cities than previously believed.

Malloy campaign manager Dan Kelly responded to the AP numbers late Wednesday: “We are aware what the AP is reporting, and we’re confident they’re wrong. Their numbers for New Haven are wrong, and they’re leaving out a significant number of votes in Bridgeport.”

Oh yeah this smells. The area with the ballot problems is heavily democratic. I'm not optimistic of the outcome.

All that will be left in this place are welfare deadbeats...

I agree 100% with everything you said. CT had a chance to CHANGE with Linda and the morons didn't. I'm telling my son to get out of here when he has the chance. We will retire in 5 years or so and it probably won't be here in CT.

More info here, at Republican-American. In the comments, someone says there’s something hinky in Bridgeport and the SoS is in on it.

If Malloy gets in, coupled with George Jepsen (and his boy Elroy, of course), I’m doing my best to get outta this state within 2 years. Problem is convincing the fiancee...

Independent candidate Scott Lee Cohen spent $6 million of his own money to run. He was Quinn's Lt Gov selection until some dirt came out on him and Quinn dumped him. Speculation is that Cohen's 4% of votes hurt Brady more than Quinn.

What a cluster-screw! Nothing that happens here surprises me anymore.

I’m curious as to how the numbers are so far apart? Does the SoS have access to numbers that the AP wouldn’t? I’m not sure how the tally reporting works.

Reminds me of the elections a few years ago where the “results” were posted (AP?) before election day, with an excuse that they were only testing the system.
