In the aftermath of this weeks electoral shellacking, President Obama on Thursday invited Congressional leaders to literally break bread later this month at a dinner at the White House as he tries to adjust to a new political order with Republicans ascendant.
Mr. Obama invited eight leaders of both parties to meet on Nov. 18 and then share a meal in the residence part of the White House. He hopes to use the get-together to start afresh after two years of partisan warfare leading to an election that vaulted Republicans to power in the House and strengthened their numbers in the Senate.
(snip)
Those invited are Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the outgoing Democratic speaker, and her Republican replacement, Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio; the number two party officials in the House, Representatives Steny Hoyer of Maryland, a Democrat, and Eric Cantor of Virginia, a Republican; and Senators Harry M. Reid of Nevada and Dick Durbin of Illinois, the top two Democrats, and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Jon Kyl of Arizona, the top two Republicans.

This is all stage scenery. See, I even tried to work directly with them with a dinner at my home (actually the people’s home) and they just said no.
Memo to GOP lambs: Take a note from a former resident of the White House: Just say no.
this is nothing but a publicity ploy to appear the big bipartisan so that any time now the pubbies make waves, THEY are partisan.
I wish the pubbies would R.S.V.P. “with regrets...prior commitment. Shampoo night.”
Rest assured this is totally for show.
Why not a luncheon with all the new House and Senate winners?
EVERYTHING...EVERY SINGLE THING THIS PRESIDENT DOES IS POLITICAL AND FOR HIS OWN PERSONAL GAIN. HE DOES NOTHING FIRST WITH THE IDEA OF WHAT IS BEST FOR THIS COUNTRY.
Its not just going to be a photo op, (Obama) said.

There you have it! It IS for show.
They should go to Frisco and have a happy meal. They just can’t have the toy.
Using Obama’s analogy, will they have to sit in the back of the room at the kids’ table? It’s time for them to play hardball with this guy.

Agree ... going to meet with him at his request is COMPROMISE and BIPARTISANSHIP. They should say, "thank you for the invitation, but we are busy trying to come up with a plan to defeat what you've done to the American People in the past 2 years! ... and PER A LANDSLIDE REQUEST OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!"
I predict an Andrew Jackson-John C. Calhoun toast moment coming on.

“The Union: next to our LIBERTY, most dear.” -JCC
This is sure to be an insult-fest like previous Obama invites.
Anyone going is stupid and ignorant and un-American.
Then it should be televised. Nothing like bright light to dampen a bully’s spirits and effectiveness.
Oh and by the way Gop you can pick up the tab.
