President does a great job with Mark Zuckerberg...President is relaxed, selling his book, and answers many questions in a great open format.

“I spent a lot of your money, $15 Billion, to fight disease in Africa. Then I went back to Congress and asked for more.”

FU GW

Q: “What non-trivial thing do you believe the President and Democrats have handled well.”

A: “I believe they’ve handled Afghanistan well.”

Are you serious? How many troops died while McChrystal was waiting on reinforcements while Obama took months to make a decision?

FU GW!

That was a tremendous accomplishment by President Bush. The results were phenomenally positive both with regard to AIDS deaths and Malaria deaths.

Bush hate is foolish and has killed many good Americans.

"Thousands of Americans were killed on American soil during your tenure, by illegal aliens, many with multiple criminal records, who had come in from our Southern Border from Mexico and other Latin American countries, some in highly criminal gangs, some with drug cartels, others just free lancing, or hitting the bottle and driving without lights such is often the custom in many of those dangerous countries. During your Administration, Mr. President, you never had a single public comment about this situation and those taken lives on your watch. Thousands of Americans were left without a Dad, or Mom, a husband or a wife, or a little girl or boy, or a cousin, brother, nephew, grandparents. Americans. Killed by those illegally on our soil, by drunken driving, hit and runs, shootings or stabbings, liquor store knock-offs, rapings ending in murder (Chandra Levy).

Mr. President, would you now like to take this opportunity now that you are out of office, to say something to those bereaved American families?"

Like Bush or not, it’s a great...unrushed, free-flowing...back and forth. Audience questions...just really like a chat. I found it quite enjoyable...all did a great job.

I assume you are talking about President Reagan in your rant.

I thought this was a thread about President George W. Bush.

I see.

Ignore the whole question, avoid a direct, simple answer and change the subject.

How convenient.

I figured as much.

Actually, that is one that I doubt will ever be answered by "W".

So let me join the chorus here, and primarily because of that reprehensible situation,

FU GW

PS while we are at it, is it a "rant" (sic) to bring this up about people, our fellow Americans, who were killed during this period of time? I happen to know one directly. Respond to me. Please. Or are we not allowed to question President Bush in my country....

Was he able to use Facebook to get in a jab at Palin? Or was the whole thing just a waste of his time?

Reagan did much more to increase illegal immigration that W did so it is on point to your rant.

Illegal migration from Mexico actually reversed starting about 2006. Bush did enact stricter controls to appease people like you not people like me or people like Reagan or any number of other conservatives.

The idea that Bush supported illegal immigrants killing American citizens is no different than supposing that he supported the attacks at 911.

Yes. when you say the FU it is hate.

You cannot argue the argument— you have to make it personal because you don’t have an argument.

The anti Bush wing is faux conservatism. Bush did much more to protect citizens than all known and implemented political alternatives.

This FU nonsense is what brought Obama to power and will continue to bring Democrats back to power.

Enjoy your world of personal attacks. it will destroy you.

The question is, should the U.S. Taxpayer be spending such billions in Africa on malaria and HIV? Didn’t we see 1 in 3 African men admit to being rapists in the news last week?

Isn’t that what the bazillion “charities” for Africa and W’s “armies of compassion” are for? Why are so many billions of tax dollars involved? Is it institutionalized guilt over slavery?

When he came in aid was $1.4 billion yearly. A 2007 article I checked said the plan was to grow it to $9 billion per year, greater than a sixfold increase.

Oh, believe me, I have my beef with Pres. Reagan over Simpson-Mazzoli, a disaster.

Got it? Great. Knew you would.

But let's start with President George W. Bush FIRST on this thread, solely on him, shall we, and not change the subject?

This is a President W thread. I have leveled a charge.

I would like you to discuss it honestly with me.

Once we decided President Bush's (43) guilt or innocence over the deaths that occured during eight years due to open borders and unchecked illegal immigration, we shall turn to Clinton and then Bush 1, and then Reagan and Carter in that order?

Fair?

Let us now start with George W. Bush and Illegal Immigration?

Your defense of him or objections/criticisms to him on this policy and human result?

You would think that each state would have utilized the federal dollars by taking each allotment and protecting each state’s borders and thier border with Mexico. Also using the federal laws to protect their citizens within their respective states.

I believe each state that did not adequately police employers and public agencies are at fault for the shape of their states when it comes to illegal immigration. Sure each political branch has their responsibility concerning immigration but to lay this completely on the president, especially Bush 43, seems to me as scapegoating.

There were some stream interruptions but there were no jabs at Palin that I saw.

W was self-deprecating and not shy that he was there to sell the book. He didn't want to comment on current politics but he was drawn in to comment on WikiLeaks which he related to the NYTimes refusal to not run a piece, based on leaks, revealing the terrorist monitoring methods in use during his term.

His discussion left me honestly interested in his book since it appears to address his thought processes for more conservative critics, like me, who thought he spent too much.

You have leveled a charge regarding illegal immigration.

That is the argument.

You choose to make it personal regarding President Bush. You don’t want to look at the issue that crosses many administrations.

Bush is not guilty of any of the deaths you list— Just as he is not guilty of torture or doing 911.

The borders were not open. They may not have been enforced to your satisfaction but there was increasing enforcement. Interestingly, as enforcement began to increase— our economy began to tank. Can I blame that on you and the homefolks?

Facts regarding W and illegal immigration are:

1. He increased spending and enforcement of the US Mexican border.
2. By 2007, net migration of illegal Mexican immigrants was out of the US and not in.
3. Bush commuted the sentence of a border agent upon leaving office primarily at the insistence of the anti illegal immigration crowd.
4. He funded and enacted more wall at the border

I personally do not share your generalizations about illegal immigrants. I think heinous acts take place from all kinds of sources. I think the conflation of 911 into illegal Mexican immigration is a dodge of the true threats we face. I don’t think any President is personally responsible for the deaths of US citizens. I think he can be politically held accountable for deaths. He was held accountable and so we now have a Democratic congress and a Democratic President. I do blame the anti-illegal immigration crowd for trumping this issue above all others.

I don’t share that sense of priority. I don’t think it even slightly compares with abortion or terrorism frankly.
