We can only speculate. Why did the other Blackhawk not have any problem with lift? From what I’ve read the challenge is to control height as the guys and their gear rope down and it loses payload fast. I’ve seen pictures of the charred chopper. Obviously the tail section survived the demo.

I was thinking the tail rotor came in contact with one of the high walls in the compound and that caused the crash. We had 4 helicopters trying to land in a relatively small area. I assume in due time the truth will come out.

As it should be. They are the boots on the ground. An order like that would have been worked well in advance depending on the how the situation unfolded. They are acting on the authority of the CIC. They made the right decision. Let it die along with Bin Laden.
Honestly, the news articles ping ponging back and forth over all of the details only serves to diminish the end result. Our magnificent soldiers took down a very bad actor. And I am proud of them.
My guess is the original plan was only for the Blackhawks to land, the Chinooks never, only as backups. One did due to the failure.
Unless it was the military and CIA that faked the death, took a live Osama to some undisclosed location for interrogation, and have not bothered to tell POTUS about it.
Maybe the Panetta, Clinton coup has some truth to it.And with Panetta going to SecDef and Petraeus to DCI, maybe Obama is being removed from the loop.
So at what point am I allowed to be so embarrassed by the posers and complete idiots in and around this administration, that I’m completely embarrassed to be called an American? I know that I as a citizen am accountable for the conduct of my elected leaders, as if “leadership” is what these clowns are performing... These are the people running our country? REALLY??? I mean, I’ve known they were clowns for some time, but truly, they are making our country look no better than a circus side-show. Although I was at a circus recently, and it was really bad—these people make that look good.
I keep thinking of the people that voted for and still support this president—what a sorry situation. The media that supports or excuses this level of incompetence is beyond correction or rebuke. It’s a very sad time for America!
Bush he already would have finished with all this already. He would have made a short but impactful statement and then continued to fight the WOT with no thought to political advantage.
Obama, however, is trying his hardest to figure out how to milk this politically, thinking it's his Oklahoma City. Meanwhile, because he dithers and tries to plan how to maximize his advantage the media has slowed down too and are asking more questions. He's going to go deeper and deeper into the quicksand because he is no exec or administration, but purely a political animal.
This should be fun to watch in coming days.

Misinformation and spin = trying to save their butts. I think OBL was killed that day, but just to add to the confusion, I noticed another discrepancy:
A day or two after the raid, there was a timeline of events in a news article. It said the raid was scheduled for the day of the correspondents’ dinner, but was postponed until the following day due to “weather.”
Wouldn’t the president (ostensibly in charge of this dangerous mission) pre-cancel his appearance at the correspondents’ dinner, or would he attend the dinner to make tacky jokes about Donald Trump on the day the SEALS would risk their lives? (Just another question, hence my new tag.)
