[ Wow, this sounds like a great solution to the housing crisis. Move crackheads and hoodies into all neighborhoods across the country.
Believe me...housing prices will shoot up ASAP. ]

That is not the only thing that will “Shoot Up”....

I see potential for all kinds of social engineering mischief here. If they can’t give the underqualified a subprime loan through Fannie Mae, then this is the next best thing, to give them a rent subsidized home they could not afford to buy. They will start “renting” these homes to perverts, criminals, and anyone who claims some kind of entitlement.

A bit of a disingenuous description.

Yes, the government will rent the houses.

What they don't tell you is who the people are that the Government will be renting that house right next store to you to, and the fact that the Government will also be paying the rent for those people.

Get ready to meet the new neighbors. And all their nice friends wearing those colorful Crips or Bloods or Latin Kings tee shirts.

See your social life broadened with all the new friends they have stopping by at all hours of the day or night to pick little packages.

And you never have to worry about being alone because the new neighbors never have to go to work and they are always at home. It may be a bit hard to get them up before 2pm but hey - they are there. Of course, if they like meth it's more like they are up and at em’ 24 hours a day for a few days on end and then they crash for 3 or 4 days.

She is joking and has some pointed social commentary. I am not sure whether she has a list of youtubes or not. But she is funny, in a sad sort of way.

Times like this I am glad I live in a predominately mormon neighborhood a block away from a Mormon Mega Church.

No where near the amount of foreclosures in my neghborhood than there are in the surrounding neighborhood. So this “program” shouldn’t have the same effect on my neighborhood.

I just don’t answer my door when there are people in clean white shirts and backpacks ring my doorbell onthe wekend. Heck since the neighborhood is already mostly Mormon they don’t even feel the need to “preach to the choir” so it has been months since any visit... LOL

The selling of these units is law and the way the process works is law. To not sell according to existing law, Obummer would need to break the law.

whatever they do will be taken to court.

That is why the original law setting up Freddie and fanny spelled out how foreclosures were to be handled. To prevent politicians from stealing. Congress was near as corrupt back then.

I have not seen in any of these articles where to send in the comments by Sept 15.

I looked at Fannie’s web site and did not see it.

Does ANYONE know the link to make comments at?

It will need a major Freep, that is for sure!

But it will reignite the whole debate about racism and housing. Perhaps that is the method to Barry’s madness. Wait until enough of us start screaming about it and then play the race card to his base.

Well, there are things I can say about this on several levels. The first thing that comes to my mind in this is Government is stuck with the papers or debt on some property. Some 'brilliant' asshole in the WH gets the bright idea "Hey, let's RENT them out!". But we'll need a whole new agency, employees and funding to administer it.

Meanwhile, all the rabid liberals are thinking "low-cost" rentals for our people! What this really means is "SECTION 8"....

Okay, now riddle me this 'bright-idea-administration'...you now own a house, you rent it (subsidized up to 95% based on income of the low-life renter) AND you now are responsible for local property TAXES! How goddam stupid can you be? What are you gonna do? You can't make "your people" pay for because they don't pay shit anyway"...What are you gonna do? Stiff the state, city, county where the house is? Yeah! real bright.

Okay, so you say "we rent to people who really pay"...okay fair enough....so now you are in competition with real investors who buy, update and maintain rentals and section 8 housing.....no big deal, huh? You appease a group of low-lifes you already give way to much too and alienate a whole section of the economy that does add value...

You people are really, really are F'ing clueless.

Right. What could possibly go wrong? And of course a couple of dozen new government beauracracies will need to be created to "oversee" the project. They will be staffed by appointed left-wing stooges.

Excellent point.

You do have to wonder if they think that the FEDs won’t have to pay, because “their people” shouldn’t have to.

I would not put it past them.

All that really matters to them is that they have control over this property. It doesn’t matter if they have to pay the local taxes, etc. It does matter that the government controls the real estate.
