Sometimes I wonder if Americans really realize how dangerous 9/11 was. For if an enemy wanted to really bring down this country this is the way to do it.

Consider. They went after a capitalistic icon. The effects on morale was meant to depress our economy.

An attack on our main military center. This would keep us from responding for the confusion, loss of communications and equipment to effective direct a response.

A planned but thwarted attack on our congress. If that PA plane had hit the capital, as was considered the plan, it would have killed many of our legislators. Congress was very much in session that day. The country would have been in turmoil, possible anarchy would ensue.

It turned out to be too little to bring a mighty country such as America and, of course, some of the plans went awry.

But it was a darn good plan and it wasn’t just a terrorist attack as I consider. It was an attack to bring down this country and I don’t think this point of view has been discussed enough.

Nobody’s going to bring down America militarily. The only way that would happen is exactly how 9-11 was planned.

To date, 7,502 of American heroes did not come home from Iraq and Afghanistan. They should also be remembered along with the tens of thousands wounded in action. Those lost on 9/11 had no choice except for the firefighters, police, and EMTs. Our military volunteered their sacrifice.

Great post Fish.Few of us will forget where we were when 911 happened.
I was on the air doing my morning show.It took a third party to tell me we were under attack I was so overwhelmed. We cut to our tv affiliate for their take on it and the next few weeks changed many a life including mine.

It may dawn on some of the Democratics and their supporters to run someone who understand what it will take to actually effect private sector growth. A list of who would be potential 2012 Democratic Candidates,

those 39 House Democrats who voted against the Health Care bill,
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2381365/posts

add the 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidates,

allowing too, for there to be some from outside government, like a Steve Wyn or Donald Trump.

Here’s the current field;

This country would not descend into anarchy because of the loss of many of our Congressmen. They are not indispensable. As long as our Constitution survives, this nation will rest on a firm foundation. Only the AQ fanatics could believe that these attacks could destroy this nation of 310 million people, the richest and most powerful on earth. AQ made a major miscalculation. Most of their leadership is dead or in prison.

Astounding audacity by TOTUS to deny clergy a presence at the WTC memorial so that he could recite Holy Scripture. Blasphemy.

Sadly, I remember how quickly NY turned on President Bush after he did exactly what they asked him to do. I remember how quickly they began blaming him for the attack and saying how he actually attacked his own people rather than those poor innocent Mooselips.

Yeah, I remember how NY repaid Bush and America. Sorry if I don’t think NYC deserves any respect.

Pray for America

There is a clash of civilizations. One of the two aims to destroy the other; and the civilization that is in the cross-hairs is basically in denial and enabling its own eventual demise.

President Bush addresses the WTC Memorial with a letter to Mrs Bixby:

Executive Mansion, Washington, Nov. 21, 1864

Dear Madam,

I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts, that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours, to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom. Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

I just got a link on my computer. I missed Obama speaking, only came in when Bush was reading Lincoln’s letter.

I am appalled that Obama read that passage of Scripture, probably because he thinks it refers to him.

Until the DNC is willing to release the free market we are going to continue to have high unemployment and low expectations.

Good  post today but it's not going to happen as long as a Democrat exists in the US Congress or White House.  It is not enough to defeat them once at the ballot box.  We have a huge challenge ahead of us in reeducating young adults and the voting public.

Freedom, free markets and capitalism are under attack by the left. Our political philosophy is under attack and it will be a long war to return to the ideals we hold dear.

Freedom of religion was the main reason our country was established and the left would take even that away from us.

-- This country would not descend into anarchy because of the loss of many of our Congressmen. --

More likely it would have gone into a dictatorship of some sort. At minimum, it would have accelerated the evolution into supremacy of the federal government over the states.

-- As long as our Constitution survives, this nation will rest on a firm foundation. --

The principles of the constitution are at risk from systematic undermining and twisting of plain meaning. Thanks to an over-reaching Congress and supporting federal court system, the federal government is probably 100 times more influential than the Constitution permits.

Although, technically, you are 100% correct. The nation can be radically changed, and still be referred to as "standing." Picking an example, the Cherokee Nation exists today.
