““sovereign citizens” have decided they exist in a Lockean/Hobbesian state of nature”

What the hell is that gobbledygook supposed to mean?

If you're an American conservative, you really should be familiar with the social contract theory of John Locke (and Thomas Hobbes), since Lockean ideas were the basis for much of the Founding Fathers' thinking on government and society.

I commend to your attention Locke's Two Treatises on Government and Hobbes's Leviathan.

The Lockean/Hobbsean thing is basically ‘if a person is fully responsible and accountable for their fate they should be unfettered in achieving it.

Something like that.
