KENNESAW, Ga. Police say two people are in critical condition after a gunman opened fire at a FedEx station outside Atlanta, injuring six people in all.
Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce also says the suspected gunman worked for FedEx as a package handler. He was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound about an hour after someone called 911 early Tuesday.
One employee of the package sorting facility in Kennesaw north of Atlanta said the gunman had an assault rifle, a knife and bullets strapped across his chest "like Rambo." The gunman's identity has not been released.

So then, would that make it “Hollywood’s fault”?

Bandoliers are for belt fed. I suspect it was web gear with magazine pouches (like found on local swat teams and armed federal agents these days).

Other reports have him using a shotgun.
Maybe it was an assault rifle shotgun.
If so, I want one.

Bizarre. If he had an assault rifle, bandoliers would be pretty inconvenient. Extra loaded magazines would be much more useful.

I always wonder when I read these stories, fairly or unfairly, “what antidepressant was he/she taking?”

If, as the witness says, he (or she) saw "bullets" in the bandoliers (rather than magazines in pouches), then my guess is it was a shotgun, and the "bullets" in the bandoliers were actually shells.

On second thought, I’m wrong. I think those Mexican “banditos” and such on the old west had individual cartridges in belts, for later loading into their rifles or pistols by hand.

More than likely, you are correct to wonder.

This will probably turn out to be another pissed off worker with some mental issues, possibly pushed or harassed repeatedly by a supervisor or management. Dangerous business nowadays, as about half the population have mental issues to some degree. Most people just don’t push well nowadays and some have a tendency to kill those pushing them. Not right, but just the way it is.

Loaded magazines can be carried in bandoliers.
A string of magazine pouches carried across the shoulder would be called a bandolier.
Bandoliers are
not belts for belt-fed weapons.
But none of this matters as this event could not possibly have happened.
FedEx is a gun free zone, don't you see...

Do we have his name yet?
That usually tells the entire story.
A nut obsessed with Hollywood violent movies and video games and off his meds.
An Islamic terrorist.
An evil thug from the city.

He was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound Well, the good thing is that there is now a job opening at FedEX. I wonder if Obama will claim this as a "job created"?
