WFAN's original call letters =WNBC. WRCA if you go back far enough. Why do they keep changing their ID?

They’re not the only ones.

The famous former WCAU in Philly is now WPHT.

WTAM in Cleveland is just the latest call letters for them (formerly “3WE” i.e., WWWE, among others).

I’ve wondered about it too.

(I listen to Indians games on WTAM, and used to listen to Phillies on WPHT until they dropped them a few years ago.)
