Dem Congressman Al Green Sends Preemptive Press Release Denying Sexual Assault Allegation

Texas Democratic Congressman Al Green sent an out-of-the-blue press release Monday acknowledging the existence of a previous sexual assault allegation against him, but denying it ever happened.

Green sent an unprompted joint statement to Washington Post reporter Mike DeBonis signed by himself and Green's former district director, Lucinda Daniels, denying anything untoward happened between the two.

"In the present climate, we wish to jointly quiet any curious minds about our former and present relationship with one another. We are friends, and have long been friends," they wrote.

Mike DeBonis ✔ @mikedebonis A new, out-of-nowhere statement from @RepAlGreen. Spox: "The attached statement is in reference to a circumstance that occurred in 2008. This circumstance did not involve the Cong. Office, nor the Office of Employment Counsel & did not involve the use of any taxpayer money." 3:04 PM - Nov 27, 2017

"At an unfortunate time in our lives, when both of our feelings were hurt, we hastily made allegations and charges against one another that have been absolutely resolved. As consenting friends, we both regret our former claims and have since then maintained a respectful friendship," the statement continued.

"We are friends," they added for good measure.

"The attached statement is in reference to a circumstance that occurred in 2008," a Green spokesman told DeBonis. "This circumstance did not involve the Congressional Office, nor the Office of Employment Counsel and did not involve the use of any taxpayer money."

In 2008, Daniels publicly accused Green of forcing her to have sex with him. Green retaliated with a lawsuit maintaining the sex was consensual and claiming she threatened to sue him for workplace discrimination unless he paid her.

Eventually, both parties dropped their accusations against each other and issued a joint statement similar to Monday's.

"Congressman Alexander Green and Lucinda Daniels have both resolved and settled their respective disputes without payment, promise or receipt of any money. They regret any circumstances that created this dispute," attorneys told the Houston Chronicle.

My goodness. If I were to bump into this fellow at night, I’d shoot it, as I’d thought a werewolf had attacked.

"Cong Greene, did you ever notice that one sex allegation inevitably leads to another, and then another?"

Dont back down, Al......when responding to charges of your serial sex activities, admit that you're a vigilant type who is constantly on the march to protect women in their struggle against patriarchy....even in bed.

A woman who would accuse you can’t deal with a real man, even a (sob) tolerant and compassionate liberal like you, Al.

Al, better call Nancy Pelosi.....let her know you’re still an asset to the struggling Democrats. Heck, they're so desperate they threw Slick Willy and Hillary under the bus when they stopped being useful Democrats.

Tell Nancy you bravely took one for the liberal team by admitting to your sexual proclivities......and make sure you emphasize your worshipful support for getting rid of unborn babies before they become a burden to their parents.

Nancy should be told you oppose violence against women, you embrace diversity, climate change and globalism... then throw in a shot at the NRA and right-wing brutality for good measure.

Coming clean is the best way, Al.

Years ago, perhaps in the early 70s, NBC had a TV show called the White Paper Report, and they extolled cocaine as a non-addictive “recreational drug.” How’d that turn out for the nation?

Explain this to me.

I may be reading it wrong....but I cant figure out why his accuser Daniels "unknowingly" dialed Congressman Greene to allegedly buy cocaine.

Was he selling cocaine out of his Congressional office?

And isnt it a crime to record a telephone conversation without a person's consent?

Or did Greene have all of his office phones tapped?

Hey, here is an idea. Take the consumer financial protection board, actually hire non-government people to run it and make it a civilian government oversight board. Their sole function is to assure the American populace that congress isn’t wasting taxpayer money on bailing themselves out of jams they caused.

Sep 26, 2017 - Texas Congressman Al Green announced that he will officially introduce articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump. ... In May, Green gained national attention as the first representative to call for Trump’s impeachment on the House floor.
