Sen. Jeff Flake just said he would vote to move Judge Brett Kavanaugh out of the Judiciary Committee and to the floor of the Senate as long as the main vote would be delayed by up to one week to allow for an FBI investigation.

They can do it in about 24 hours.
Betty Ford, Brett Kavanaugh, and every "witness" named by Betty Ford have all submitted sworn testimony -- so they don't even have to be interviewed by the FBI.
The only "evidence" still out there is Betty Ford's therapist's notes -- which her lawyers already said they would not turn over.
If any of these people are caught lying to the FBI will they go to jail?

Additionally, what credibility can Ford have? Joe Digenova says she has been in Bethany Beach, Delaware since the beginning of August. She wasn't even in California. She was a 2.5 hour car ride away from the Capitol building. The Dems have been lying for all along about where she was. Flying wasn't even an issue.
Why would they talk to the FBI? It has no jurisdiction. Functioning as a de facto PI firm.

The Democrats will say that it wasn't a full investigation. But they will say that if the FBI takes a year to do it.
I think Flake, and Collins, and Murkowski really want to get Mark Judge interviewed. Once that is done, they should vote for Kavanaugh.
If a special FBI investigation occurs, I think the dems will ultimately regret it, because the FBI won’t find any evidence of wrongdoing, and Kavanaugh will end up stronger than before. An exoneration by the FBI won’t convince most of the dems, but almost nothing would, not even a retraction by Ms. Ford.

Not at all. Flake is an idiot. He needs a serious talking-to. If Flake is the only Republican to vote against confirmation, the Senate will vote 50-50. That would result in Vice President Pence casting the tiebreaking vote. Guess which way he would vote.
