Democrats are falling into Trump’s trap. History proves it.
The Washington Post ^ | My 10,2019 | David Von Drehle

One doubts that President Trump has been reading Livy on the Punic Wars between Twitter storms. So any resemblance between his post-Mueller report reelection strategy and Hannibal’s victory at Lake Trasimene in 217 B.C. is probably coincidental.

(Speaking of Twitter storms, did you happen to see the president’s reaction to the recent New York Times story detailing the $1 billion of losses he claimed on his tax returns in the 1980s and ’90s? Flip-flopping like a beached trout, Trump first dismissed the story as something everyone has known for ages — “very old information” — then boasted that all great real estate developers dodged taxes in those days — “it was sport” — before dismissing the whole thing as a “Fake News hit job!” He confirmed it, explained it, bragged about it and denied it in the space of a couple of tweets. He truly is a remarkable specimen.)

They say they can “walk and chew gum at the same time” — that is, hound the president while pushing a positive platform. They’re wrong; they can’t. If there is hounding to be done, let New York’s attorney general do it. Team Pelosi should hit Trump where it hurts: Ignore him for a while.

Ancient history is not the only place to learn this lesson. It is as fresh as the last election. Hillary Clinton took Trump’s bait and made her entire closing argument about him: his genital-grabbing, his bankruptcies, his bromance with Vladimir Putin. By Election Day, Democrats basked in polls that indicated a majority of Americans thought Trump was unfit for office.

Good article with the read..

.Democrats have trouble remembering the two rules of Trump. First, he thrives on conflict. He reportedly told senior aides from the start that every day of his presidency should be a TV show in which he battles rivals and wins. Second, he believes that elections are won by dominating the spotlight. “It’s not the polls. It’s the ratings,” he explained to me in 2016.

Trump did not flip-flop. Rather, Trump made comments on three different aspects of the issue. I guess that level of nuance is above this particular editorialist’s head.

In short, we can dismiss this editorial as yet another fake news hit piece.

“By Election Day, Democrats basked in polls that indicated a majority of Americans thought Trump was unfit for office.”

It turned out to be the hardcore left wing voters, and when compared to the larger pool of Americans who voted, these voters only made up a small portion of the Democrat party. And since this didn’t work, they will try again, which is the definition of insanity.

And as far as insanity goes, I believe once again, the left has that covered.

Trump is the first republican president that FIGHTS in at least a generation.

Democrats and the fake legacy news don’t know how to deal with that.

Their first and only impulse is to destroy.

The Compost & Slimes should've used Google.

Donald Trump Revealed His Billion-Dollar Tax Write Off on ‘The Apprentice’ 15 Years Before New York Times ‘Bombshell

“It wasn’t always so easy. About 13 years ago, I was seriously in trouble. I was billions of dollars in debt,” Donald Trump said in his opening narrative of the main titles of the show in 2004. “But I fought back and I won, big league.”

a good read - a lot of it wasted on bashing Trump. Not enough time admitting that Trump has exposed almost all democrats as posers, weak-minded, over-emotional, spoiled children.

"Democrats are falling into Trump’s trap."

They've done so time after time.

Let's hope they continue to fall.

Trump's towering intelligence dwarfs their mediocre brains, but they're too stupid and too delusional to comprehend it.

“One doubts that President Trump has been reading Livy ”
Oh-one does, does one, Davey? A little pretentious, isn’t one? But if I be studies one’s history just a bit deeper but with an open mind, it’s easier to realize that the real knowledge is how to parry the thrusts of a virulent enemy blinded by rage and hate, then turn it to your advantage. Just like a matador (that’s ‘bullfighter, Dave). The Eagles once had a hit song, “Het Over It”. Good advice, friend. You’ll see more clearly, and maybe even write better columns. That’s easy when you’ve set the bar so low. Happy Mother’s Day

From the China tariff thread today:

But Trump never plays by the rules and it seems no one from China’s side is able to contend with him,”

That's our President...love the guy

Unexpected

Devastating

Trumps "Art of the Deal" has been in print for ages....so bad so sad they never read it.

—— Democrats basked in polls that indicated a majority of Americans thought Trump was unfit for office.”——

They were correct in doing so. The majority of American voters were in fact for Hillary. Hillary won the popular vote.

The proven fact is that the polls were city biased. The polls did not indicate the Trump favor ability in fly over country

The current House of Representatives still indicates a democrat favor ability rating. It will be ignored at America’s peril

Trump is a major league disruptor. Look back at other disruptors, Jesus Christ, The Renaissance, the printing press, the steam engine, the cotton gin (reduced need for slaves), trains, the automobile, the airplane, telephone, radio/television, X-ray, penicillin, the transistor, space flight. These events all changed mankind. Trump is doing that too, he is changing mankind not only in the USA but throughout the world. He is the disruptor of our lifetime.

“They were correct in doing so. The majority of American voters were in fact for Hillary. Hillary won the popular vote.”

Let’s break that one down. The majority of California voters were in fact for Hillary. The reason she won the popular vote is because she won California by the majority it needed to give her the national popular vote.

She pulled the same thing in the national that as pulled against Bernie in the primaries. The deck was stacked in her favor and she still didn’t win.

exactly..he didnt flip flop on anything.... they try and give any single story about his past as “hair on fire” terrible...hence the title FAKE NEWS...public sees thru this and its driving them cra-zeeee. Why dont they mention the 2007 tax return..where he made 556 million and paid 40 million in federal tax alone...his battle with the media is the single best reason i voted for this guy...its been a beautiful thing to behold. Theyve thrown everything at him and hes stronger than ever...historic stuff.
