It’s ‘An Honor if the Americans Attack Me,’ Pope Francis Says of Critics
ktla ^ | 09/04/2019

American conservatives who loathe his outreach to migrants and China, his denunciation of free-market capitalism, his environmental concerns and his relaxation of church rules on the death penalty and sacraments for civilly remarried Catholics. Some have gone so far as to accuse Francis of heresy.

The pope’s most outspoken conservative critics in the U.S. include Cardinal Raymond Burke, who Francis ousted as a Vatican supreme court justice, and former White House adviser Steve Bannon. Well-funded, right-wing Catholic media amplified their disapproval. Wealthy Catholics are putting money behind initiatives to discredit Francis’ allies with the goal of electing a conservative, doctrine-minded churchman as the next pope.

Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni sought to clarify the pope’s comments afterward, stressing they came in an “informal context” and that Francis always welcomes criticism.

Any of you want to consider a Protestant Faith I would be happy to answer questions. I am sure there are others more knowledgeable than I who would as well.

I know he’s the Pope (Il Papo), but I think he’s first and foremost a communist.

So many in the Protestant faith as well. My kid is going into the ministry and is aware of what is happening (very conservative). He has met with several, prominant pastors in the SE to help guide him.....as well as A LOT of prayer.

Hopefully the Pope will get converted to Christianity and forget politics.

It’s this sort of gross anti-Americanism and arrogance, and claim to be able to command the faithful, that led to both British and American hostility to Rome. The fundamental basis for both British and American suspicion of Catholics in the body politic was based on fear that they took their loyalty to the Church (not necessarily to God) more seriously than their loyalty of the the non-Catholic state.

This faux papacy is understood in the context of homosexual dominance of church institutions especially the Jesuit order, the Vatican bureaucracy and seminaries. Homosexuals are a cancer on the Church. The agnostic Francis is their champion.

“Are you catholic and do you kiss your mother with that mouth?”

Hmmmm...I’m not Catholic and not likely to switch with Pope Che at the helm! My Momma is dead and I wasn’t big on kissing her as an adult anyways. And sometimes, emotionally dense words help convey emotion....

He may be the Vicar of Satan. No sign he has even met Jesus.

I feel your pain. At one point in my early life the girl of my dreams, a catholic, and I an Ulster Orangeman, agreed to mutual amicable split over the religious issue. Shits of it is she eventually converted to Lutheran.

Well then, congratulations, Pope. You rank right up there with Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, and other luminaries of your ilk. Real champions of human dignity.

Well, honoring the pope is important, even if it takes an insult.

Why don’t you resign, Francis???

More likely than not, this dude is perhaps the least spiritual Pope of modern time.

In my 70’s and I can’t think of anyone in my life so far in that office that has tried to insert himself into geo-politics more than him.
