I’ve lived through a few coups. They’re insane, random, and terrifying, like watching sports, except your political future depends on the score.
The kickoff begins when a key official decides to buck the executive. From that moment, government becomes a high-speed head-counting exercise. Who’s got the power plant, the airport, the police in the capital? How many department chiefs are answering their phones? Who’s writing tonight’s newscast?
When the KGB in 1991 tried to reassume control of the crumbling Soviet Union by placing Mikhail Gorbachev under arrest and attempting to seize Moscow, logistics ruled. Boris Yeltsin’s crew drove to the Russian White House in ordinary cars, beating KGB coup plotters who were trying to reach the seat of Russian government in armored vehicles. A key moment came when one of Yeltsin’s men, Alexander Rutskoi – who two years later would himself lead a coup against Yeltsin – prevailed upon a Major in a tank unit to defy KGB orders and turn on the “criminals.”
We have long been spared this madness in America. Our head-counting ceremony was Election Day. We did it once every four years...

Taibbi’s going to lose a lot of party invitations. He hates Trump, but he sees what’s going on: a soft coup by the intelligence agencies, in cooperation with the media and scumbag Dems like Nadler, Schiff, and Schumer.
The ongoing coup is bipartisan in nature. It’s going to come out what what a pivotal role Rotten Rod played in the coup. He was only able to do that because of support from the GOP.

That is assuming that some group got JFK - rather than the “Oswald did it as a communist-leaning loner” narrative.
The Deep Staters aren’t only taking out Trump, they are sending a message to anyone out there that would associate with him. Any ‘Outsider’ gets the message. “Your life will be ruined if you challenge us.”
You’ve made a good argument to dissolve the CIA. What little good they do doesn’t balance out to all the bad they do in my humble opinion.
BTW, a little off topic, but I’ve never seen why Nadler was allowed not only to participate but to direct much of this. He and Trump were enemies since NY, when Trump was one of the first to want to redevelop the West Side (the area is now the very successful Hudson Yards, High Line, Chelsea Piers, etc.). Nadler was anti-development and fought him tooth and nail and hated him, because Trump won.
Nadler was, then as now, a fat, useless Upper West Sider who had never done anything productive in his entire life. He was a lousy Representative who never did anything for his district. But he hated Trump, there’s a long history of his hatred for Trump and desire for revenge, and I do not understand why this is never brought up as making him unfit to participate in this (show) process.
Incidentally, I thought this was a brilliant description of the descent of a country into lawlessness:

That is not to say that the current POTUS has given, or would give, such an order.
As far as I know there are only three ways to become an ex-POTUS. Do your tour (4 or 8 years) and get out, impeachment, or death.
The left doesn't want another 4 years of the current POTUS, they would not mind seeing him die, in any fashion, but do NOT want it leading back to ANYONE in their camp. So what is left but impeachment?
Does the left really think they can get the current POTUS impeached? Probably not but they are willing to take the chance to keep the current POTUS out of another 4 years.

I've reached a point of thinking that the only way the US dream can be saved is if the country breaks up.

I guess it could be looked at as a general strike but from my point of view it is just a much needed time-out for the left. They are so violent and raging that they need to back down for awhile and grab a different perspective of reality.
How do I think they would react?
Hopefully they would center on their families and understand how important it is that they have food to eat, water to drink and flush their toilets, enjoy electrical appliances, working street lights, have fuel for their vehicles, and all of the comforts of their homes.
All of us take so much for granted sometimes this would be an ideal time to reevaluate our view points and to open our minds to understand what things that we control and what things we do not control. It might even lead some to understand that those who live in other cultures, non-city, do have valid view points as well.
In our local culture we have/make our own power, have home garden canned goods set for the winter, freezers full of meat and the other staples,and are on a septic systems and have plentiful water. We could appreciate all of that during this break or even cut more wood for our winters heat.
I believe it could be a great learning experience for many.
