When the impeachment proceedings against President Trump begin again next week, he won't be the only one facing scrutiny, Rep. Jerry Nadler said.
"The Senate is on trial as well as the president," Nadler said during a Wednesday press conference. "Does the Senate conduct a trial according to the Constitution to vindicate the Republic, or does the Senate participate in the president’s crimes by covering them up?”

"The emphasis is on litigators and on making the strongest possible case to the American people," the speaker said.
Nadler, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, called into questioned the integrity of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has indicated the chamber's majority will be in lockstep with the White House regarding Trump's impeachment.
"If the Senate doesn’t permit the introduction of all relevant witnesses and all of the documents that the House wants to introduce, because the House is the prosecutor here, then the Senate is engaging in an unconstitutional and disgusting cover-up," Nadler said.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was some one at the DOJ who could actually inject a little “Justice” into the situation? I wonder what it would take for something like that to happen?

The Democrats feel that President Trump is guilty. They don’t have a crime. They don’t have any evidence. But they hate him. They know how they feel. And they feel that he is guilty. And their feelings are just as good as having facts. So, having determined the man’s guilt, the Democrats are going to be very, very upset if the trial in the Senate fails to come to the correct verdict. Because this is all about justice.

Sorry, Jerrold. The benefit of due process and the presumption of innocence operate for the accused, not to make the life of the prosecution easier.
You didn’t bother to honor those principles in the House and the Senate won’t be cowed by your threats into abandoning them. You’re afraid it won’t.
Go ahead and present your case. Except as you know very well you don’t have one. No viable case on earth exists a prosecutor would sit on for a month.
Which is what your side did and you aren’t coming to the Senate with clean hands.

Hopefully the Senate confirmations of judges won’t stop during this time
During this three to four week period...nothing else is going to be going on within the Senate, and both Warren and Sanders are going to be ‘occupied’ (unable to campaign). All of this works well for Biden and Bloomberg. To some degree, I think the delay was done to help both of them.
The Senate can’t do any other business while there’s a trial pending.
The Turtle didn’t want the case. Now that its been tossed into his lap, get it over with ASAP.
Democrats can go pound sand.
