Democrats slammed President Trump for inciting violence against protesters demonstrating in Minneapolis over the death of George Floyd.
Joe Biden tweeted, "He is calling for violence against American citizens during a moment of pain for so many. I'm furious, and you should be too."
Biden was referring to Trump's tweet when he said, "These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won't let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!"
Twitter said Trump’s tweet violated company policy because it glorified violence in the last line.
Hillary Clinton tweeted that Trump is "calling for violence against American citizens. If you haven't already joined the work to replace him in November, start now."
The phrase “when the looting starts, the shooting starts” was used by Miami's police chief, Walter Headley, in 1967, when he addressed his department's crackdown on "slum hoodlums" who he claimed were taking advantage of the civil rights movement.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., tweeted, "I don't doubt he knows exactly what he's doing just as he did after Charlottesville and when he took out his newspaper ads calling for the death penalty for the Central Park Five."
Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., said it’s a scary time with "a president calling for the murder of political opponents and protesters."
Kamala Harris tweeted, "Trump's tweets yet again show what racism looks like. This is why we need new leadership. Vote."
Rep. Rashida Tlaib tweeted, "The Impeached President is a violent white supremacist."
"This is what a racist president looks like," Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va.said.

When I read it I immediately told my wife he was referring to looters starting shooting. Only a brain dead democrat would twist these words to accuse Trump of “inciting violence”. But the big story now will be TRUMP IS A RACIST AND WANTS COPS TO KILL EVERY BLACK PERSON THEY SEE!
It is unbelievable. NPR reported that Trump “threatened violence against protesters”. What the ever-loving F? Pure slander! Looters are not protesters. People burning down McDonalds, Autozone, and police departments are NOT protesters. Protesters who hang around violent looters take the risk of being collateral damage. A riot is not a block party.
Seriously, we are in trouble because personal truth has replaced factual reality.
CNN Banner used the word “unrest” for riots that are burning down a city, including an evacuated police station.

I can see the Trump/Biden debates now. Instead of laughing maniacally, his handlers are going to have him remember one line and repeat it to Trump every time he speaks: “you are a racist”. I doubt he can remember it every time without flubbing. But he’ll try to go the entire hour and a half saying just those four words.
