I wonder how many years of foreign aid you’d have to total up before you would eclipse the $464 billion required for the proposed one off $2000 “stimulus” checks? At least a decade, I’d bet. The $3 billion relative pittance you just listed would buy us around a $12 dollar stimulus, which is something I guess. But this is where we are as a party, $3 trillion in the red in 2020 alone, and at each other’s throats about possibly losing an election because we didn’t give out another half trillion. I’m not really sure what the purpose of all this is it this point. If this is just a spending competition, might as well leave it to the pros.
It really doesn’t matter. Saying “we’re too broke to help American citizens” while simultaneously sending billions to foreign countries is just bad politics no matter how you slice it.
