The Republican senator Ron Johnson, of Wisconsin, questioned the need for widespread Covid-19 vaccinations, saying in a radio interview “what do you care if your neighbor has one or not?”
Johnson, who has no medical expertise or background, made the comments on Thursday during an interview with the conservative talk radio host Vicki McKenna. Contrary to what medical experts advise, Johnson has said he doesn’t need to be vaccinated because he had Covid-19 in the fall. On Thursday, he went further, questioning why anyone would get vaccinated or worry about why others have not.

Many are afraid to say it but I’ll say it
The vaccine industry is evil
Having studied it for three decades now I have absolutely no question in my mind about this
It is like a choo-choo train going down the tracks that doesn’t care what’s on the tracks it just needs to keep going
“Contrary to what medical experts advise, Johnson has said he doesn’t need to be vaccinated because he had Covid-19 in the fall”
That’s actually science.
Guardian plays fast and loose with what “medical experts advise” and what they say.
Clinical trials began over a year ago with the first doses given March 16, 2020. They’re all fine. So are the rest of us.
So what. 85 haven’t worn a face diaper and am NOT getting a jab. Guess what I’m fine. Try living healthy, it works.
I am not a lab rat and refuse to be treated like one.
My wife is getting out of the hospital with COVID. The whole family has had it. The hospital is recommending we get the vaccines ... two different vaccines.
“My wife is getting out of the hospital with COVID. The whole family has had it. The hospital is recommending we get the vaccines ... two different vaccines.”
They are recommending you get vaccinated by at least two different vaccines, for example get vaccinated with both Pfizer and Moderna?
Agreed. thanks for stating.
The propaganda continues:
Associated Press: “Contrary to what medical experts advise, ...”
What experts? Here’s a handful of eperts who agree with Sen. Ron Johnson:
World Doctors Warn: DO NOT take mRNA shot

Yes.
The Guardian needs to take a look at the origin of all of this from the beginning with the complete BS model that stated millions were going to die so thus America shut down.
Thanks.
That’s odd - I mean the recommendation to get two vaccines.
Scientifically immunity conferred by having a viral infection is stronger than anything conferred by vaccination, which is fooling the immune system in to thinking the virus is present. A real infection will confer stronger immunity (there can always be exceptions).
Getting vaccinated as further precaution even after having the disease seems to be the common recommendation with Covid. It’s not necessary in terms of what’s know in immunological science, but the thinking is that it’s not harmful and could only help.
But getting two? Never heard that.
Excellent point.
Contrary to what medical experts advise, Johnson has said he doesn’t need to be vaccinated because he had Covid-19 in the fall.

And why would this disease be any different from other viruses where your body produces its own antigens to defend itself and is then protected in the future.
A n00b Vax Covidian speaks!
( did you ever reveal if you were paid to represent a vaxPharma company?)
This Covid is going down as the biggest hoax in history.
Nope, climate emergency is still the biggest hoax and will end up being the biggest boondoggle of all time.
Tied!!! COVID 19 has done a lot of economic damage!!! If they usher in the green new deal we might be toast!!
The anti-vaccine extremists do not want freedom of choice. They already have that.
They want the entire vaccine industry destroyed so nobody else has any choice, just like the anti-gun extremists. They want everyone forced to make the One True Choice. And they’re willing to spread lies and launch nonsense lawsuits to make it happen. They’ve been doing so since the 80s. Why the 80s? Because the first generation that grew up not having to worry about terrible disease like smallpox and polio came of age then, and a small - but very noisy - minority of them had no appreciation for the benefits of vaccines.

The pharmacy companies before the 1970’s are nothing like the Big Pharma operations of today. That’s like comparing the FBI of the 1970s with the corrupt FBI today.
That's incorrect. Neutralizing antibodies are massively higher for the vaccines than for most infections. The levels are more similar for those who've had severe infection.
"It’s not necessary in terms of what’s know in immunological science, but the thinking is that it’s not harmful and could only help."
No, the thinking is that with vastly higher levels of neutralizing antibodies, you're more protected from breakthrough infections for variants like P.1 (Brazil) where the physical structure of the S protein has shifted enough that neutralizing antibodies from the April 2020 variant are less effective. The exact threshold of what amount of neutralizing antibodies correlates to what amount of immunity is not known, but every indication is that more antibodies means more protection.
"But getting two? Never heard that."
Agreed. That's some pretty weird advice. CDC has advised that getting two different shots doesn't appear to be a problem, but they've also stated that there's very limited data on this and that the preference is always to follow the normal path of two shots properly scheduled for Pfizer/Moderna or the one shot of J&J. I've never heard of anyone suggesting it's better to get two different vaccines.
There’s no big reveal there, since I don’t work for or get paid by or have any financial interest in any pharmaceutical companies.
I’m providing facts to counter fearmongering nonsense so that everyday people can make informed decisions about what’s best for their own personal health and wellbeing.
I will get the vaccine if I absolutely have to, but I believe it should be a free choice. One thing I really don’t like about these vaccines is the connection to abortion.
Neutralizing antibody blood concentration does not necessarily correlate with stronger long term immunity and protection.
“ I’m providing facts to counter fearmongering nonsense so that everyday people can make informed decisions about what’s best for their own personal health and wellbeing.”
Sure you are ;-)
“Everyday people.”
OK.
