Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott asked the state’s hospitals Monday to consider postponing all elective surgeries Monday in order to combat a surge in hospitalizations due to COVID-19.
In a letter to the Texas Hospital Association, Abbott asked medical centers to “to take steps to ensure the availability of adequate hospital capacity to care for COVID-19 patients.” In addition to rescheduling elective procedures “for which delay will not result in loss of life or a deterioration in the patient’s condition.”
Abbott also ordered the opening of five new centers to provide antibody treatments for COVID-19 in addition to an existing facility in Lubbock.

You are assuming that most of Texas looks like the urban squalor cities. We don’t play by the same rules in my 100,000+ city. School starts next week. No masks required. I went to Lowe’s and several other stores yesterday. No masks. Church. No masks. Jury Dury Monday. No masks. It has been this way since the early spring. The commie dictators all live in the Gotham Cities of the world. I am quite positive that Atlanta would be the same.

Most of the articles I read say Hospitals WILL BE to capacity. It’s more of a prediction.

The fact is, in 2020 Abbott instituted a statewide mask mandate. We never had that in GA. I agree, I am sure Atlanta was a mess. Don’t go down there really except for the airport.

Hernia surgery is elective
Kidney stone is elective
Melanoma removal is elective
Basically, anything that you don’t go straight from ER to OR is considered elective.
Yep. They found Abbott’s price last year when they got him to shut down bars, limit restaurant capacity and impose mask mandates. People are *still* plenty ticked off about that.
Well, he might not have a clue about Covid, but at least the energy supply is solid, right?
