Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced his resignation on Tuesday under threat of impeachment, following the release of a scathing state Attorney General report in which investigators concluded that he sexually harassed several women in violation of state and federal law.
“I think that given the circumstances, the best way I can help now is if I step aside,” Cuomo said from his Manhattan office.
After disputing the report’s findings and apologizing for some behavior he insisted didn’t amount to sexual harassment, Cuomo said the wasted time and money from the impeachment process would hurt New Yorkers during a time of crisis.
Cuomo’s resignation will be effective in 14 days, the governor said.
Under state law, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul will assume the role of governor, becoming the first woman to lead the Empire State.

He resigned hoping the nursing home fiasco goes away. What is needed now is for a victim's family to charge him with the felony murder he committed. The pressure RATs put on him to resign for sexual harassment was to save the other five or six RAT governors from being charged also. It wouldn't surprise me if the DNC didn't offer big bucks to the women to come forward with charges they normally would just slough off.
The next mayor is worse. Count on it. A woman with a point to prove.
He resigned an innocent man....hounded out of office by evil back-stabbers...
But they will get theirs...you will see....

Two weeks ? Must be a requirement for the check to clear.
Running them out for this get some off the hook for killing Grandma on the nursing home. It was also a great distraction while the world was going to hell
It would be interesting to know why the oligarchy turned on him.
The left gets two wins out of this. First, Cuomo escapes having to face the music for his role in the deaths of thousands of nursing home patients. Second, he has been eliminated as a viable 2024 Presidential candidate.
I wonder who is in the wings having the field cleared for them? I cannot imagine that they think they can rerun Biden.

But biden did worse. Why did the dem party and the media (but I repeat myself) give biden a free pass and send cuuuuomo to the wolves?

nope, that charge would never stick; you’d need to prove malice aforethought, and that is not in evidence...
maybe reckless endangerment, and even that’s a stretch, if they couldn’t prove that he had a reason to think his actions might result in deaths...
He bought himself a little time. They were getting ready to announce the start of impeachment trial & that would have him out immediately .
He is doing THIS ... so he can slide on the “killing thousands of people”
There is no wins for the Left here! He was a major star in their party and now he is totally discredited. Next is Newsome. And if the next governor is as bad as people say, a Republican could win the State.
I would expect civil suits to follow.

Cuomo had already been stripped of his emergency powers.
She will be a figure head until the next election. This is a major victory for our side and everyone here on FR is seeing it as a win for the Left!
