Walmart Online Site is Broken
Vanity | Nov 11 2021 | Chad C. Mulligan

About a month ago the Walmart site went haywire. Can't see half of it at all, can't order anything. Admittedly I'm a dinosaur, running XT-Pro, but no other sites I order from are broken like this.

Being mobility handicapped, online ordering is very important for me. Not to mention that the nearest store is an hour away, and last time I was there it was OOS on over half the items on my list.

Anybody know anything?

There's no excuse for not getting a reasonably up-to-date computer hardware and software that works consistently. Right now I am using an aggregate of such stuff that altogether cost me less than $30. But I had to scouur the Habitat For Humanities ReStore, Good Will, Salvation Army, and other thrift stores for it.

I have seen enough of this kind of stuff either given away or at give-away prices to be able to provide other acquaintances with gifts.

Who is your internet provider, and what kind of connection do you have?

I subscribe to youtube videos by ‘the deal guy’ - recently he did a video about Walmart and said they are redoing walmart.com but it’s no where near done and will still be iffy for a couple of months, but when it’s done it will be much simpler to use.

Maybe since they had nothing left to sell, thanks to the Brandon regime, they stopped maintaining the website.

Last time I went to their website it had changed and wanted to charge me for shipping unless I purchased a subscription. Interesting.

Give us an item you cannot see, or one that you can put in a cart but can’t go to check out.

There really aren’t any browsers today that work perfectly running under Windows Xp SP3 on all websites ... between Slimjet and Mypal most functionality on most websites can be had but beware of a few glitches here and there ...

I just placed an order on my amazon fire tablet yesterday with no problems. I’ve gotten to the point i very seldom fire up the laptop any more. Maybe an inexpensive tablet would be nice for you? Black friday coming up would be a great timeto look for deals on an inexpensive one. Walmart or amazon will have deals i’m sure. When I bought my tablet amazon offered no interest deal. I think i paid something like $20 a month. If you can find those kinds of deals, you may be able to get a more expensive one with more features. I’m not sure if ipads or chromebooks had those deals on amazon, but you could look. Hope this helps!

Well, I do think that the Walmart site works but is poorly written compared to some other company sites. But I have been on it in the last couple of days and found nothing unusual about it.

Are you using an older computer out of nostalgia, or out of economic necessity?

Actually I have more than one computer online, nut I was still using a Dell GX-110 Pentium III with Windows XP Pro up until about 6 months ago, because it had a lot of my self-created material on it for over 15 years, as well as the software programs that no longer worked in the advanced computers and OSes. But now I've gone ahead without it.

I’ve ordered online today via the app. If I try on internet I can’t see pictures of items till I click on them.
