Biden tours site of Pittsburgh bridge collapse, vows to ‘fix them all’

President Biden visited the site of a Pittsburgh bridge that collapsed hours before his arrival in the Steel City Friday and vowed to kick-start a national effort to repair faulty infrastructure.

Biden’s motorcade reached the remains of the Fern Hollow Bridge just after 1 p.m. The span had crumbled about six hours earlier, injuring 10 people — three of whom were hospitalized. No fatalities were reported.

Why is this a Federal problem? State inspections said it was in disrepair and local gov’t chose to ignore it. It’s a state road and state funds should be used to repair it. That’s why they collect state gasoline and license plate taxes. I don’t understand why people outside of PA should pay for their state roads.

I used to think that Frick Park was named for the commissioner of baseball, Ford Frick. Then, later I learned about Henry Clay Frick. Wikipedia says he was responsible for the Johnstown Flood and the Homestead strike. Pretty impressive.
