Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he has officially applied to have Ukraine join the European Union. "I'm sure it's feasible," Zelensky said in a post on social media amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen previously said the European Union wants Ukraine as a member. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday said he officially applied to have Ukraine join the European Union as his country remains under attack by Russian forces.
"Today I signed the application for Ukraine's membership in the European Union. I'm sure it's feasible," Zelensky said in a post on his social media platforms alongside photos of him signing the documents.

In a very narrow sense. I think Putin was more worried about them joining NATO.
Ukraine certainly has the right to join the EU without being destroyed.
Although it's a poor choice, not because of Putin, but because the EU will steal their sovereignty.
I think this guy has gotten bad advice.
Russia has repeatedly made it clear NATO cannot be on it’s border.
It seems that if NATO - EU wanted war with Russia they wouldn’t be doing anything differently than they are to provoke it...
