this july was cold by compaeison.
1980, I’d come in from work and sit in front of the fridge with a wet towel because it was 115. Funny how that “record” is missing from this year’s 106 all time Biblical record.
2011 has also gone missing from the record books. It was so hot and dry Texas towns were out of drinking water and were having to haul in water by rail and were desperate enough to spend tax dollars to call water witchers. Rivers were bone dry (yes, check back on FR) because 1) the heat and drought and 2) all the waters were sent down to the rice fields and never mind all the people losing their businesses and their home wells going dry. The weather forecasters dubbed it “100 days of 100+ temps” but funny how that “record”. Hey, it is summer. It’s supposed to be hot. It’s TX so it’s supposed to be over 100 but we’re at day 20-something for triple digits and that’s a lot less than most years. I’m sitting outside at 11 AM and it’s a slightly warm but nice 92 degrees and 50’ from a very full river full of tourists (grrr) and lawns are being watered so there’s no lack of drinking water. They LIE!
