Author Stephen King railed against gun violence in the wake of Wednesday’s mass shooting in Maine, calling for people to “stop electing apologists for murder.”
“It’s the rapid-fire killing machines, people,” King wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “This is madness in the name of freedom. Stop electing apologists for murder.”
At least 16 people were killed in Lewiston, Maine, on Wednesday in a mass shooting incident at two locations. Local authorities said the suspect remains at large and residents were instructed to shelter in place. Firearms instructor Robert Card, 40, has been named as a person of interest.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of uneducated people like King who don’t understand the founding principles of the United States.
The founders recognized that governments kill far more people than criminals do. so overall it’s better to have an armed populace that can defeat a tyrannical government.
It’s over, Stevie! It’s time you figured out no one asked for or cares about your opinion!
Wow, I never thought I would agree with Stephen King.
Let’s do stop electing politicians who make excuses for criminal behavior and support and implement “defund the police” policies.
Instead, let’s elect politicians who support citizens’ right to defend themselves and implement policies to both fund the police adequately and to hold criminals responsible for their behavior.

Crackhead pedo says what?
“Stephen King on Maine mass shooting: ‘Stop electing apologists for murder’ “
Says the guy who makes millions fantasizing about murders.
Is sad he is a leftist and doesn’t have a clue ….
Exactly. but noooo, not to alkies like King— “the gun went off”. This killer would have made a large bomb and use many other weapons. The FAULT lies with not locking up a well documented mental patient and the USArmy letting him continue to be a reservist. Sheesh.
Hey Stephen, here’s what I want to know. Why the hell didn’t anyone shoot back? If more people had been carrying, there would be fewer dead.
Shut up Stevie. Your days are over.
See: the French mafia from Marseilles. Heroin and guns trade with Afghanistan etc. What the French national police have to keep tabs on as well as Interpol.
Memories of the true story of the French Connection (and the french movie star whose car was shipped to NYC with rocker panels filled with H. It happened. Military hardware is a side trade commodity.
Mr. King,. do us all a favor and do what you do best, write novels about people getting tortured sand killed.
You aren’t a great social commentator, you’re a fictionalist. Write what you know. Conservatives do not “apologize” for murder. Most of us here would gladly take our firearms and engage these subhuman vermin on the spot.
I have owned my AR-15 since 1994 and it has yet to kill, hurt or offend ANYONE. How i that possible if the tool is the problem?
But, liberals are about feelings not facts. The fact that this animal snuffed out 18 human ,lives last night is inconvenient. So you take the coward’s way out and blame a hand tool.
Take your buddy Slow Joe Biden who is “demanding” banning this and banning that and ram it up your arse sideways.
We do not want a war, but if one is brought to us, we WILL finish it.
It’s funny how libtards work they say they only want cops and military to have guns well here ya go this guy was military so the left got what they wanted
The police? They’re the ones that didn’t take his guns.
“Some people did some things”.
Tell me, why didn’t we ban jumbo jets when they killed 3,000 people in two hours?
No, dummy, it's not the machines; it's the people.
It’s ok Stephen. I always vote pro life
Oh, STFU, King. Your early stuff was entertaining because it was still somewhat of a novelty. You’ve outlived your shelf life by a few decades.
Note in his defense.
Liberals are typically very free with other people’s money.
He personally funded a baseball stadium for Bangor high school and Little League. His only requirement was a box seat behind home plate for himself.
