WASHINGTON — A federal appeals court on Tuesday rejected Donald Trump’s broad claim that he is immune from prosecution for alleged criminal acts he committed as president in trying to overturn the 2020 election in a chain of events that led to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Trump will almost certainly appeal immediately to the Supreme Court in a bid to prevent the trial from going ahead as scheduled in March. The Supreme Court could make a quick decision on whether to hear the case and could fast-track any ruling.
The three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled that there was no basis for Trump to assert that former presidents have blanket immunity from prosecution for any acts committed as president.
The case is one of four criminal prosecutions Trump faces even as he remains the presumptive front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.

I believe that now they will ask the full Court of Appeals before it goes to the Supreme Court.
So this court is fine with trying the entire biden admin and all his minions/handlers/owners for treason and sedition against the USA as soon as he is no longer in office.

(The presiding judge has postponed the trial indefinitely while the immunity battle continues.)
It was a given that this would be the opinion of the DC court. The left was becoming irate that they hadn’t already issued the opinion. Now it goes to SCOTUS. Roberts could punt and not hear it this session and put it off until the next term which begins in October thus delaying the case even further.
However, the case remains on hold for the time being.
There is an intermediate step Trump can take here. He can ask for en banc hearing.

No person is above the law. Presidents merely get a stay on civil and criminal prosecutions.
If Joe Biden was breaking laws to let in invaders for political gain, he can be prosecuted when he leaves office, as can any accomplices.
Jill would be smart to try to keep him in office even if it is not in the interest of the Democratic Party as a whole.

According to some legal people, they are saying that the Supreme Court will rule with the DC court. But that does not make sense because all presidents have immunity. IF we had some big basketball of steel we would start immediately pressing charges against Clinton Bush, Obama Hillary, everybody that claimed immunity For their crimes. I’m so sick of this. I’m just sick of it. Our nation has completely collapsed. You have no idea how I despise DC and it’s communist piece of CHIT bastards! Sick of it. And you know the Supreme Court is going to stab us in the back as well. I don’t believe in JUSTICE anymore in America. Yes, it has good people but the ones that rule over us have their effin boots on our throats.
It wasn’t long ago that a similar three judge panel made a ruling that was excoriated by the DC Circuit sitting en banc.
