Any rational person familiar with the behavior of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis during the prosecutorial misconduct hearings that finally ended last Friday has probably concluded that her conduct has created the “appearance of impropriety.” This, according to defense lawyers for former President Trump and several co-defendants, is sufficient to disqualify Willis and the Fulton County DA’s office from prosecuting the RICO case they launched last August. Indeed, defense attorney Harry MacDougald cited six examples of actual conflicts of interest, any one of which is sufficient to disqualify Willis and her office. Yet it’s unlikely that it will happen.
Why not? The decision must be made by Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, who said on Friday that he would rule on the motion to disqualify Willis and her office in about two weeks. Unfortunately for the defendants, McAfee is a temporary appointee to the bench who must face Fulton County voters for the first time about 60 days after his ruling. Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp appointed him last year to complete the term of retiring Judge Christopher S. Brasher. According to McAfee’s campaign website, his election will take place on May 21. Fulton County, which includes Atlanta, is overwhelmingly Democratic and its voters will be less than pleased with the judge if he disqualifies Willis and her office.
Further complicating matters is the fact that McAfee once worked in the Fulton County DA’s office and was supervised by none other than Fani Willis, according to a report in the New York Times. This presumably explains his weirdly passive response to her disruptive courtroom antics during her February 15 testimony. He allowed her to ignore questions, accuse defense attorneys of lying and imply that they represented a threat to democracy...

If the Judge is leaning towards letting her get by, which I doubt, he will have to re-open the hearing for this new evidence.

Two weeks gets him past the filing deadline for an opponent to run against him - considering the case against Fat Fani is a proven corruption, she is toast (my op).

The qualifying period for candidates running for judge positions in Fulton County is as follows:Odds are greatly in favor of Fani's, Wade's, and the entire DA Office's disqualification.For Political Party Candidates, the qualifying period begins at 9:00 A.M. on March 4, 2024, and ends at 12:00 noon on March 8, 2024. Sheesh. This is garbage. Anybody who has studied court cases and how judges behave knew he was making sure there would be no appearance of bias or impropriety on his part.
Now I may be wrong but find it unlikely.

I don’t think she’s smart enough to resign. I think she’s gonna hang on hoping that that she beats the rap.
Sometimes the court allows a witness to behave badly to fully flesh out the characteristics of “Exhibit A” — being the person herself.
I like to see them as they really are, and allowing them just enough leeway to give an accurate impression often serves the cause of justice.
Honestly after what happened to Trump in NY..twice, nothing surprises me anymore. So l think it’s likely Fani stays

Fani Willis presented herself in court as an ignorant, arrogant, entitled, intemperate fool. Only time will tell how the judge will rule, but he did Willis no favors by letting her flaunt her true character, anger, and lack of control.
According to the article, "After watching Bradley’s testimony, [Cindi Lee] Yeager 'became concerned as a result of the fact that what Mr. Bradley testified to on the witness stand was directly contrary to what Mr. Bradley had told Ms. Yeager in person' Monday’s filing says."
He won’t disqualify her because he doesn’t want to die. It’s that simple, really.
I don’t know....maybe we’ll be hearing more before the decision but I guess the judge wouldn’t be able to take anything other than what he heard in court into consideration. Just thinking out loud.
In the meantime - this is what I meant in my earlier post of voters in Atlanta not really caring enough about their city or county to vote...They’re too busy elsewhere with crime!
It just popped up on my monitor and it’s just more of the same we hear about constantly here in GA. The most squatters in the country are right here in GA and 1200 alone in DeKalb County. Very good interview also very good to know there is going to be pending legislation in the GA House on this matter. It’s way past time for legislation nationwide on this subject. Watch it - very maddening but perhaps there’s light at the end of the tunnel?

I’m convinced McAfee will disqualify Willis and thus the entire Fulton County DA’s office. McAfee is a young judge. If he refuses to do the right thing here (at the minimum an appearance of conflict is obvious) he will be considered a “bought” judge and his reputation as a fair and unbiased judge will be forever destroyed. I’ve never seen such an obvious case of conflict in a case in Georgia as appears in this case.

I believe it is obvious and no reasonable person can deny there was perjury by a sitting DA and “special counsel.” The judge should dismiss them from the case and refer to state attorney general for investigation/prosecution.
However, if he gives them a pass it will be a slam dunk for appeal and magnify the corruption within the Georgia legal system.
