The Great Replacement? As Americans Flee Blue Counties, Immigrants Move In

Earlier this week we reported on our findings about net domestic migration trends in the U.S. based on voting patterns in the 2020 elections. (See: “The Great Divorce: 3.7 Million Have Fled Counties That Voted For Biden.”)

But we realized there was a discrepancy in the numbers. For example, while more than 483,000 people have moved out of Los Angeles County since 2020, the county’s population only declined by 351,000. Over the past three years, more than 88,000 Americans left Harris County, Texas, yet its population actually increased by 104,000.

And, while we found that, overall, 3.7 million people moved out of Biden-voting counties since the 2020 elections, the population of these counties went down by less than 1.5 million.

Why the difference?

Were those who stayed behind particularly fertile and long-lived?

No. The difference is almost entirely from what the Census Bureau calls “net international migration.”

Census says this includes “the international migration of both U.S.-born and non-U.S.-born populations. Specifically, it includes: (a) the net international migration of the non-U.S. born, (b) the net migration of U.S. born to and from the United States, (c) the net migration between the United States and Puerto Rico, and (d) the net movement of the Armed Forces population between the United States and overseas.”

If our country’s split, Hispanics will go with us - they’re hard working and working class and middle class and they respect freedom.

I think that the Democrats have realized that the Hispanics are Amercanizing because they are actually entering the middle class through hard work and they believe in the American Dream. The Democrats were expecting them to remain on the plantation like other minorities but that's not happening so they're desperate which is why they've opened our borders and telling the whole world that they can come to America so now you see illegals from places like China and Africa.

You're right. Plus we'll get a lot of black men and Asian families. We'll actually have a 'diverse country' by liberal standards but our take will be that 'we're all Americans'. We're not going to do the 'check the box' thing that liberals do to divide us by race...

I can believe that if they lump “Hispanics” with “whites” (which they seem to do often now, further breaking out “Non-Hispanic whites”. Never mind what is released for public consumption; what do your eyes tell you?

Many years ago my children were born and the issue was already clear; they were among a couple of white kids, along with a couple of Asian and black kids - surrounded by far more Hispanic babies than all three combined. Decades ago...

I think Hispanics, like whites, are more of a mixed bag; while plenty advance into the middle class, many also remain in the permanent underclass (see NYC, LA). Many are buying into the “American Dream” of home ownership and children (which is why they are trafficked here originally), so those have a real stake in things and would probably vote accordingly.

The party machine is powerful in the blue cities. But once the Hispanics get over to flyover country, it's the land of opportunity.

I think there is just a wide variety of people under the label; those that want to get ahead probably spend little to no time in blue cities at all. Outside of “three hots and a cot” and “free” education (even if it is sub-par), they’d probably be physically safer staying in their third-world homes to the south.

As Hispanic countries veer left, we attract their educated professionals first; then we eventually attract just anyone there who wants to eat, or wants a life expectancy beyond 30. I wasn’t born yet when Castro came to power, but many of the offspring of many of the professionals who fled at the time still live in my area (northeastern NJ). More recently, in the 1990s I saw a similar thing happening with Venezuelans; the ones arriving were not the criminals, prostitutes and such filling NYC shelters now. It just got so bad that eventually hookers and drug gangsters couldn’t make a living; once it was in the news that they’d eaten the zoo animals in Caracas, it was clear they’d be heading to a civilized country soon.

For all the BS about “climate change” driving this refugee crisis, Venezuela was a great case in point to illustrate what killed that country (which is great for agriculture): Once the government set the price for bread below the cost to make it, the bakers stopped baking bread; the rest, as they say, is history...

That’s only if you count Hispanics as white (most are not even if they self-identify - census doesn’t have a racial category for mestizos).
