Aging Texas Bridge Closed After Barge Strike
Galveston leaders have been looking to replace the 64-year-old bridge for at least a decade, with the state transportation department saying it has reached the end of its structural life.
Flores told the Chronicle that the barge strike is the second in less than a year, with repairs from the previous strike only being recently finished.

Certainly a possibility due to the geography of the area.
As I was bracing for, Faux news had to come up with some thoroughly absurd numbers.
Last time, they had our RPOTUS up 5 pts head-to-head, now it’s only 1 pt.
In the 5-way race, they now have ByeDone up 3 pts.
Plus a slew of other crazy categories.
Think I will change the channel (which I already did) and go enjoy my dinner.
BTW, I’m kind of ashamed at how I’ve blown away my Faux News boycott, following their trial coverage gavel-to-gavel.
HOW can anybody say that the race has tightened, especially after 107,000 people turned out for the Wildwood rally???!!!

Interesting that this is the second barge strike .... repairs from previous strike were just recently completed :-(
But, as the article says, it’s an aged bridge (64 years old) and past it’s replacement time.
Hopefully, they can get the new bridge going, quick. Not sure how this will affect the A&M Galveston students/campus, for the interim. :-( Maybe a dedicated ferry, or, the Cajun Navy! :-)
