Russia has no plans to take control of Kharkov, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with students and teachers of the Harbin Institute of Technology.

"As for Kharkov, there are no such plans as of today," the president said.

Russia is making gains in the fighting in the Kharkov region, he also said, adding that the Russian armed forces are moving every day strictly according to plan. Putin blamed the Ukrainian forces for what was happening in Kharkov region.

"They are shooting directly at the center of the city, at residential areas. And I said publicly that if this continues, we will be forced to create a security zone, a sanitary zone," Putin said.

It rurns out that American supplied could not be used to attack Russian soil. Therefore, before the Russian assault around Kharkov could be countered, the Russians had to be on Ukraine soil.

Penetration was allowed into Ukraine thereby creating a kill zone within which the hapless Russian invaders could be wiped out.

The Ukies have been shelling and attacking Belgorod with presumably terror attacks. Much like Avidiivka, which was the city used since 2014 to shell Donetsk, it was taken to stop the shelling of the Russian population.

Should the Ukies keep shelling the Belgorod area from Kharkov, it will suffer the same fate as Avidiivka.

It is obvious Vlad is now in the final phases of securing the ethnic Russian provinces and establishing the much talked about “ buffer” zone.

He will be in a good position for the upcoming negotiations ( or capitulation) of St Z’s regime. Vlad still holds all the cards.

As usual Putin tells simple truths, and does what he says, and the Western elites can’t grasp that. They are so used to deceits and manipulations that a leader who speaks plainly and acts accordingly is totally unintelligible to them.

Stop with the falsehood that Ukraine was shelling the civilian populations in Donetsk and Belgorod. This did not happen. As for Belgorod, the reason that the Russians were able to mass troops to attack toward Kharkiv is that the Ukrainians were not allowed to use US supplied weapons, i.e. artillery, to attack within Russia. The last time I looked Belgorod in inside Russia.

The only ethnic Russian province in Ukraine is Crimea. Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson have ethnic Ukrainian majorities. But you know that, don't you?

The Ukes have been hitting Belgorod (and lots of places elsewhere in Russia) with Ukrainian made munitions. This is because of the deals they have with foreign countries where their weapons cannot be used on Russian soil.

Belgorod and other sites in range of Ukraine contain logistics and airfield targets, as well as economic/infrastructure targets, of high importance. As well as troop concentrations, assembly areas, etc.

This policy (no foreign weapons on Russian soil) hampers Ukraine. In the meantime Russia gets to use any weapon to hit anywhere in Ukraine, whether the targets are military or economic or civilian. This includes the Russian use of strategic nuclear platforms.

This situation is vastly “unfair”. This is an outcome of, ultimately, the chronically incoherent and inept US administration handling of this matter.

The “terrorism” charge is Russian propaganda. The flavor of Russian speech on these matters is, btw, exactly that of the Soviet Union.

The Ukes have been shelling civilian areas across the Russian border. Makes sense to create a buffer zone to stop that.

LOL, right, because there are no Russian military bases and training grounds in Belgorod

Local residents of Russian Belgorod showed a video of a Russian Grad MLRS firing toward Ukraine from a road on the outskirts of Belgorod.

All the shelling would stop if the Russians just went home. Then there would be no excuse for the need of a buffer zone.

Perhaps you can explain why Reuters report disagrees with your contention.

This is always the childish kinds of statements that you Zeepers continuously make. I guess it’s because you all think in such simplistic terms when dealing with complex issues, just as a child does.

You're telling us that the folks in Donetsk wish to be ruled by Kiev rather than Moscow?

If you are going to point to one incident, what do you have to say about the over 100 cities and towns that the Russians have been bombing?
