NATO allies are inching closer to sending troops into Ukraine to train Ukrainian forces, a move that would be another blurring of a previous red line and could draw the United States and Europe more directly into the war.
(snip)
So far the United States has said no, but Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Thursday that a NATO deployment of trainers appeared inevitable. “We’ll get there eventually, over time,” he said.
(snip)
As a part of NATO, the United States would be obligated under the alliance’s treaty to aid in the defense of any attack on the trainers, potentially dragging America into the war.

GloboHomo, Prog Socialism and Zeepers need YOU In Nazi Ukraine!
Just who exactly are these American advisors going to advise? Every swinging duck in Ukraine that can carry a rifle is already doing so, except for the Gestapo in the press gangs pulling children out of schools and old folk playing chess in the parks.
We do have 30,000,000 illegal military age men nobody wants they can have…
Silly. A few special forces teams can defeat the Russian Army? That’s just ignorant. And predator drones just hovering overhead would be blasted out of the sky.
Without their massive amounts of logistics and supporting arms, Special Forces are just better shots and in good shape and are good teachers. But get serious. If someone said a few Spetznaz Teams could defeat the 2nd Marine Division or the Big Red one, they would be laughed off the forum.
And I don’t like calling them special, but the SS was highly trained and elite. They had divisions of them and Russia still kicked their ass.
Probably more accurate. But things 'get real' when those other people say "no, you won't".
Our soldiers are wildly unprepared for a battlefield that is closer to WWI and involves a large conventional military. The only chance they would have is a total all out war effort with supporting air strikes, arty, armor, deep interdiction, the whole 9 yards.
And that still isn’t possible. Because even if it all goes well and you are truly defeating the Russian army, then you get nuked.
It’s still escaped people here, Putin is the moderate there and is under heavy criticism for his light touch. The ones who would replace him are not our pet Ivy League Russians. They are very hard liners.
Hell we even turned Medvedev very hostile. He was very chill in the past.
Does anyone know what is Putin’s end plan here (I’m not asking for speculation, but rather, for any source of what his issues/complaints/goals are)?
It’d seem to me that someone (speaking for NATO, specifically), ought to sit down with the man, and ask him this question, perhaps in a televised meeting.
Furthermore: 1. if we are to send any more $ to Ukraine, we ought to demand that there be a meeting such as I’ve proposed here before any of it is actually delivered (so, start with a ceasefire), and 2. as some have alluded to on this thread, if what Putin/Russia is doing is such a threat, then yes, we should have the balls to declare a war, and take it on (note that this is NOT my preference and I’d rather not have this). I do not see how this situation, a quagmire, with some attrition, benefit the people of either country.
How much longer will this be sustained?
As most Zeepers are Botts, who have no children, they will be all right with sending lots and lots of kids—I say send in the demonstrators, illegals and welfare gangbangers to the front to form “meatwave” assaults to deter Russians, North Koreans, Iranians and Chinese in the next war.
You guys got only half the story about how the war in Vietnam started.
It started after the French got kicked out in the early 50s. Then, because Ho chi Minh was a Lenin communist, a particular agency sent people over there, not only to Vietnam, but to Laos and Cambodia to set up opposition to the communists.
In short, again, this particular agency fostered a war, not only in Vietnam, but actually started one of their own private war in Laos. Nobody, and I mean NO BODY, not even congress knew what the eff was going on in Laos.
Initially, agents shared airfields and even drank at the same establishments as the Russians there. Then when it got hot..later 1950s the Russians got out because the red chinese really did not care for them there.
During the Vietnam War, bases were established in northern Laos and manned by people or agents of that particular agency. Long chen...I was there at the end.
So..you get to see how that particular agency is responsible for formenting wars. Like indo china, they were in Ukraine before, and formented this war.
Watch the show Air America.
“As a part of NATO, the United States would be obligated under the alliance’s treaty to aid in the defense of any attack on the trainers, potentially dragging America into the war.”
Bullsh!t.
The Russian army? A Russian division? No, clown(as usual). Once again not having the ability to think.
But, an ODA with the right support, in a certain situation could wreak havoc a Russian unit made up of conscripts from a Russian prison.
Are you aware what the movie, 12 Strong, was about?
Trainers? Ha They were called advisors in Viet Nam. Putin is not going to take this lightly. Prepare!
I wouldn’t bet my life as a grunt on getting support from this administration. Same same LBJ.
And I saw in Cambodia how “that agency” funded their little mischievous adventures - 99% China White heroin.
ad VN didn’t have any nukes!
Biden, in his dementia, probably thinks he’d become a wartime president hero and be re-elected in an overwhelming fashion.
Wrong again, Joe!
Biden’s working overtime to trigger WW3 before his “re-election” day
He may succeed in uniting the country, but not in the way he imagines.
As Russia Advances, NATO Considers Sending Trainers Into Ukraine
I am quite sure Russia will be delighted to take care of them.
