Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed on Wednesday that Israel would "set its sights" on Turkey if it succeeded in defeating Hamas in the Gaza Strip, AFP reported.
"Do not think that Israel will stop in Gaza," Erdogan told his party lawmakers in the parliament in the capital Ankara.
"Unless it's stopped... this rogue and terrorist state will set its sights on Anatolia sooner or later," he added, referring to the large Turkish peninsula also called Asia Minor that comprises more than half of Turkey's territory.
"We will continue to stand by Hamas, which fights for the independence of its own land and which defends Anatolia," stated Erdogan.
Erdogan has increased his verbal attacks on Israel since the start of the war in Gaza on October 7.

Erdogan is a total Islamist. Wrecked what was a wonderful country before he was elected. I spent a week there and had a great time. No one cared that I was a woman without some sort of head scarf.
Agree, Israel has no wish to invade Turkey, just warmongering from Erdogan.

Israel doesn’t have much of a capacity for force projection. They’re a small state, and they’ve not wasted resources on capabilities they’re unlikely to need.
So as tough as the IDF may be, they lack the ability to support large scale operations more than a couple of hundred miles beyond their border.
Israel could reach Turkey with air strikes, but they’d never be able to put boots on the ground.

Erdogan is an enemy of Israel and the United States. We should be treating him as such, along with Orban.

There was no attack on Israel. There was an attack that took place in the unlawfully occupied territory of Palestine.
I do not think so? Israel would only attack if attacked first. Besides a Russian prophecy states Turkey will be cut into three states. and Byzantium will be restored.
Present Palestinian lands were carved out of land designated for Israel.
The unlawfully occupied territory of Palestine was and is designated land of the Palestinians.
Erdogon is a bad actor and should be kicked out of the EU and NATO.

Erdogan has stated that if Israel were to try to exterminate or forcibly remove the Palestinian population from Gaza, Turkey would move to support Gaza. Israel should not attack Turkey. Suicide is rarely a good idea. Thinking the IDF can attack Turkey exhibits delusions of grandeur. As a NATO military power, Turkey ranks third behind the U.S. and the UK, but ahead of the other 29, including France and Italy. Israel cannot afford to mess with the large non-Arab muslim nations.
Palestine is the land of the Jews. Up until recent times, Palestine referred to Jews living there. When nomadic Arabs got pissed about Israel becoming a nation, they usurped the monicker of “Palestinian” for themselves. There is no such thing as Palestine, it is a made up tool of radical Islamic terrorists. Present day Israel is only a fraction of the originally mandated land for the nation of Israel. Nearby land surrounding Israel is unlawfully occupied by non-Jews. Hopefully, these lands will be reclaimed by Israel. G_d is on their side.

Israel attacked first in the 1967 war and land grab. That is why the land officially remains the unlawfully occupied territory of Palestine, and all but two of the embassies in Israel are in Tel Aviv. Israel called it a preemptive strike, something not recognized in international law. Israel was simply the aggressor nation.
