It’s not green energy that is doing it. It is the utter corruption of the US government, borrowing and spending trillions we don’t have to get nothing for it. Green energy is one piece of the corruption. Subsidized mass invastion is another. The Ukraine war is another. Continued exportation of manufacturing overseas is another. And so it goes. As Friedman explained inflation always and everywhere is a monetary phenomenon. If we had fixed money supply and free markets, economics would have fixed all of this before it got started.

Including the cost of gas. $1.86 a gallon when Trump left DC sounds good for all items shipped and distributed to stores plus driving to go shopping for them.

It was the government mandates that created that factor in our, as yet, uncontrolled inflation.
The destruction of an otherwise vibrant automobile industry through mandates and regulation in that sector.
The food and energy sectors, the basis of life, were set on the same trajectory by the COVID OUTRAGE and the economic war against Russia.
It’s a perfect storm that has our governments paralyzed, as current politics has them locked in to stupid.

Obama’s head of the Dept of Energy was hoping and praying we would get European-sized energy prices starting with $10/gallon gasoline. He was actually the head of the Dept of Anti-Energy.
Nothing is going to match the economy of fossil fuels, and not only because the infrastructure is already in place. Fossil fuels are made from solar energy that nature has transformed into a relatively stable (as energy goes) and easily transportable form, all at no cost to us. All we gots to do is dig it up.
Nukular can be more economical, long term, but the front-ends costs take generations to amortize.
Nobody commits suicide by automobile exhaust any more because modern cars run too clean.
