Zelensky Shoots Down Macron’s Call for an Olympics Truce with Russia
Breitbart ^ | 05/19/2024 | Kurt Zindulka

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected calls from French leader Emmanuel Macron for a truce with Russia during the Paris Olympics and criticised the West for seeking a swift end to the war.

The ancient tradition stretching back to Ancient Greece of a truce during the games will likely not be observed during this year’s Olympics in Paris, which will be held from July 26th to August 11th in the French capital.

I'm with Zelensky. The Olympics are stupid.

Also, Russia is banned from the Olympics. In the past, they would have been invited. Even if they're the invaders.

His nation is losing a war, maybe badly, and his army could use a breather. Three weeks or so of a truce to resupply, rest, train and reequip his troops should have been welcomed

He just shortened the war in Russia’s favor by months.

“..The Olympics are stupid...”

I disagree wholeheartedly. Originally, the Olympics was not a competition among nations, but among amateur athletes from all over the world. Funding by governments was not allowed, athletes had sponsors. The Communist governments of USSR and East Germany found ways around that.

But even now that professionals in some sports compete and nations seek glory, it is in the competition that the beauty of sports is seen. This is where the walls that divide nations crumble.

If you ever spent time in an Olympic Village and seen athletes from all over the world talking with one another in friendly conversation, seen then laughing together, singing together, dancing together, you would see what a perfect world might look like. I have been blessed in that twice I have witnessed such.

I stand by what I said. They're professionals now. NBA players are in the Olympics now. Etc.

The heavyweight champ is now a Uke. He should box the Russian champ to settle this. Rocky showed us the way.

“He just shortened the war in Russia’s favor by months.”

Yep, my first thought, for the same reasons. Maybe Zelensky is on Russia’s side? After all, he is a native Russian speaker.

Mitch McConnell ‘Apologizes’ to Zelenskyy for Not Sending US Tax Dollars ‘Fast Enough’
The Daily Fetched ^ | 26 April 2024 | Jason Walsh

Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he “apologized” to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for failing to send the millions of tax dollars in aid to the country “fast enough.”

During an appearance on “Face the Nation,” McConnell discussed approving the supplemental aid, which provides further funding to Ukraine’s $150 billion, untold billions to Israel (vote-crazy Biden added another billion later), and Taiwan.

Apparently they now do a bit more than that, at least judging by the article regarding the types of beds they’re using in the village, this time.

“Agree and disagree. It should be a cage match between Pootz the Putz and Zel the clown. Lock ‘em in. Then drop the cage into the derp part of the Black Sea. Two pieces of sh*t flushed from the world.”

Add Lukashenko and we can flush the three Slavic turds away. Make it a trifecta.

Could we add Donald Tusk?

I have a feeling the Paris Olympics are going to make the 72 Munich Olympics look like child’s play.
