Last words of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Bible “ His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
John 2:5
Jesus said pray for your enemies, now do it. Or don’t call yourself Christian. This means all of you.
I'll take my chances.
You’re right, of course. The Lord said to pray for our enemies even as they persecute us. The vengeful human instinct in me says reject it but this morning’s sermon was on this very subject: To bless those who curse you and let the Lord have vengeance, for we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
But my prayer is not merely for his physical safety. My prayer is that the man will find the everlasting Saviour and give his life to Him before it is everlasting too late. Perhaps this man could be set apart to convince those who would otherwise not listen to Christians like us, as Paul was called out from his life of persecution of the saints.
I don’t pray, I’m an agnostic, I worry.
I won’t worry for the likes of him.
Not even to “heap coals of fire upon his head,” Proverbs 25:22 KJV
Yes Jesus did say “pray for your enemies”. He didn’t say you have to say hello to his mother first. He did say that when asking or praying to the Father, that we must use his name also.
Not a word about an “Ave Maria”!
Jesus said pray for your enemies, now do it. Or don’t call yourself Christian. This means all of you.

What suggestions might you offer concerning the wording of those prayers?
Be careful y’all. We have no confirmations.
Everybody will think he’s dead and then he’ll show up somewhere claiming resurrection.
