“The point,” explains Baughman,
“is that normal children are being drugged exactly like the Cali and Medellín cartels, but under the guise of medication to help and with all in the medical community being knowing participants. She [Volkow] found something very alarming about Ritalin and at the same time is writing like ADHD is a proven thing — that ADHD is a real disease. It just isn’t so.
It’s pure propaganda and there never has been proof of a specific chemical [or] physical abnormality in children diagnosed with the alleged ADHD. None.”
Renay Tanner, an expert in human rights and psychiatry and a doctoral candidate in sociomedical sciences at Columbia University, tells Insight, “Volkow isn’t saying anything new. She’s just looked at the issue with a different technique. The important thing to remember is that
no child ever has died from ADHD, yet a number of children have died from the ‘treatment,’ not to mention the brain damage, stunted growth and suicidal feelings they experience.
One has to ask why children are being targeted for the myth of the chemical imbalance when no one can show that an alleged sufferer has a chemical imbalance and no one — certainly not the medical community — even knows what such a chemical imbalance might be.”
My newly-wedded son recently informed me that his friend's 6 year-old was on Ritalin to which I informed my son and his bride that if they ever drugged a grandchild of mine I would skin them both alive.
I asked, what kind of diet does this kid have? and they both laughed: Fruit Loops for breakfast, twinkies for lunch and McDonald's for dinner if he's lucky otherwise it's slop from a box. Not a fresh fruit, cereal grain or vegetable in sight. I don't know if it's ignorance or neglectful abuse. Maybe it's just easier to drug kids than do your duty by them.
I didn't know it was more potent than some of the street drugs, but now I know why Ritalin is ALSO sold on the streets! I also just learned that there is a connection between Ritalin and increased illegal drug use. I hadn't thought it through that far, I guess.
This is bad, bad stuff. I am so glad society is finally realizing it. It seemed like I always stood alone the past THIRTY YEARS railing against it.
God bless the parents whose children actually need this medication.
And God help those children who are forced to take it just because they are normal little children.
