Are you kidding? Imbe and I are bros.

He probably did not know ahead of time. He also allowed Fr. Alphonse Stevenson, who is released from Diocesan duties, to be photographed with McGreevey at one of Father Stephenson's concerts. The picture was in the newspaper. I am still waiting for a response to the letter I wrote to the Bishop last month. I guess I should not hold my breath.

YOU CANNOT BE BOTH PRO-CHOICE AND CATHOLIC

The Catholic Church in New Jersey is under attack.  On September 4, Reverend Alphonse Stephenson  was pictured in the Asbury Park Press with Jim McGreevey.  A Catholic priest, albeit a theatrical performer, invited McGreevey to come up on stage and posed for a picture with this Pro-Abortion politician. McGreevey opposes having parents notified before their teenage daughter has an abortion, opposes allowing parents to make their school choice, favors free needles for drug addicts and supports domestic partners and gay marriage, he does not live by the tenets of the Catholic Church.

Posing for pictures with a politician helps that politician get his picture in the paper.  It implies an endorsement for what that politician stands for.  No priest should allow the politician to use them or their church for such purposes.

On Monday, September 10, Jim McGreevey went to St. Patrick's Church in Jersey City to be endorsed by a number of groups and to highlight his "Catholic" roots.  Bishop Hughes of the Metuchen Diocese banned Jim McGreevey from speaking at Catholic events in 1995 because of his anti-Catholic votes and positions. Jim McGreevey does not support any of the Catholic Church's positions on public policy. It is hypocritical of him to highlight his background and deny everything that the Church stands for.  Jim McGreevey would not even admit having spent a year and a half at Catholic University.

Catholics need to be on the alert to any further use of the Catholic Church as a prop for a false profession of faith.  YOU CANNOT BE BOTH PRO-CHOICE AND CATHOLIC.

If you hear of a Catholic Church, Hospital or School being used by a PRO-ABORTION politician you MUST notify the pastor of the church, the Bishop of the diocese, the diocesan newspapers and CatholicVote.org.  We will all need to show up and defend the church and it's teachings.  You can reach us at

1-888-224-8683.

(888-22-I-VOTE). WE'RE CATHOLIC AND WE VOTE CATHOLIC.

You can also contact Bishop Frank Rodimer and ask him to notify his priests that Pro-Choice politicians are not welcome at Catholic Events for photo and campaign opportunities.  Fr Alphonse Stephenson is outside the Paterson diocese and ought to be recalled.  Please call  Bishop Frank Rodimer

Paterson Diocese  fax 973-777-8976 Asbury Park is in the Trenton Diocese.  Please ask Bishop Smith to notify his priests to stop appearing with Jim McGreevey.  McGreevey was embarrassed to admit that he went to Catholic University.  He ought to be embarrassed to show up at a Catholic Church.
