Former President Clinton on Wednesday night urged Americans to embrace tolerance even as they search for an appropriate response to the terrorist attacks on the East Coast last month.
"This represents a struggle to define the soul of the 21st century world," Clinton told more than 2,700 people at a fund-raising dinner to benefit the El Paso Holocaust Museum and Study Center. "I know this group (of terrorists) well and they think that in our economic success, we have grown weak and that we are of questionable resolve. These terrorists are formidable people and their leader is a brilliant ... man."
