The first thing the Taliban did after taking power as priority number one was to disarm the population. Only the Taliban and the Northern Alliance had guns.

Results: Bandits killing robbing and raping innocent Afghans. Taliban firing squads in midevil type use of soccer stadium with public executions of men, women, and children for something as western as a young girl kissing a man in public or caught trying to flee the country! Or simply walking down the street without a veil on.
