Muslim visions of living Christ
Good News mag.

Posted on 10/22/2001 11:01:34 PM PDT by ocean

The director who leads Campus Crusade for Christ's
work in the Middle East and the Muslim nations of Northern Africa oversees
a radio program that is being broadcast to the entire region.
He is reporting an astounding phenomenon.

"His office has received thousands of letters from
Muslims," says Bright. "Many tell of a dream they had: `I saw Jesus. He declared to me "I am the way."
Moved by this compelling dream, they are writing the Campus Crusade's Middle East office
to find out just who Jesus is. Once they know, they
freely respond.

"In Algeria, a number of people discovered they had the
very same dream. They began to talk with one another
and discovered each had experienced the same
dream. The details were the same, and even the words Jesus said to them were the same.
On their own, they have formed a Bible study and are following Christ.

"A fanatical Muslim woman had spent four years in
prison for her political activities. While there, Jesus
appeared to her in her cell. He personally explained
redemption and the gospel. She is now on the Campus Crusade
staff, totally sold out to reaching her Muslim people for her Savior."

Bright continues: "I could tell you other
stories--miraculous, incredible stories of visions.
Muslims are seeing the risen Christ. Can there be
any doubt? Our great, wonderful Lord is calling
the Muslim world to himself. Praise his holy name."

"Perhaps you already know that Islamic theology has
no place for forgiveness. Islam is primarily law, legalism,
punishment, death, and vengeance," writes Bright.
"That is why they are stunned, even troubled for days,
after they view the `Jesus' film. When they learn of Jesus' life of love and
forgiveness they are drawn to him.

"The concepts in the film are so foreign that sometimes
Muslims ask to see `Jesus' two and three times before they
grasp what it means. Amazingly, they readily accept
his miracles as historical fact and are deeply impressed.
But they are moved most by his forgiveness,
that he willingly carried his cross for them, and then
died on it, taking upon himself his father's
`vengeance'...for their sins. For them, it is truly a
revolutionary concept.

"And, when given the chance to freely respond, without
fear of retribution from Muslim zealots, there have been i
nstances when all those in the audience indicated that
they wanted to receive and follow Christ.

"Clearly, God's Spirit is moving. In these `Last Days,'
before his return, Jesus is building the Bride of Christ, his
Church, by drawing from the very heart of the Muslim world,
from among the most unreached people in all the world.

"Many consider Muslims to be the most `Unreached' people of the world. Until now, they have been deeply resistant. Yes, most still are. But, for those whom God
has touched, in whom he has placed a desire to find the truth...they will respond if only we can get the message to them.

"Second Peter 3:9 reminds us that God is eager to bring millions to himself among the
Kurds as well as among the people in Iraq, Pakistan, Muslim republics of the former U.S.S.R., Sudan,
Indonesia, India, and in other Muslim nations."

Dramatic Answers to Prayer

A Muslim Priest

The Wagners tell a story of a Muslim priest "who hated Christians and
decided to destroy a Christian church and see the believers scattered. He figured the best way for him to do this
would be to burn down the church one night. He was successful in his project and the
church and everything in it was totally destroyed.

"He celebrated his victory by walking through the ashes a short time later.
He saw but one thing that remained--a single page from the Bible. Curious, he picked it up and read,
`Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

"The priest decided he must read more of the Bible, so he bought one and began to
read it. Soon he began to preach from it as well as the Koran in his mosque.
He decided to become a follower of Jesus.
He was soon thrown into prison and served a prison sentence because of his new-found faith. When he finished his jail sentence, he became a Christian pastor and continues to proclaim Christ."

This story reminds one of the Scripture: "So shall my word be that goes forth from
my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please. And it shall prosper in
the thing for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11).

Spontaneous Conversion

John Robb of World Vision and the AD 2000 Unreached Peoples Track reports: "A series of `spontaneous
conversions' have been occurring in the countryside as a result of dreams and visions of Chris
t given to Cambodian villagers. In one village a medium saw a vision of
Jesus coming with jet planes in the sky. Very soon after, a Cambodian pastor came to her village at the time that a
Buddhist family was holding a funeral in the Buddhist pagoda. The pastor decided to attend the funeral and
was bold to preach God's Word to them in the pagoda. The medium responded to
the message because of the vision of Jesus she had already seen. She received deliverance from the demons
which had been possessing her. Her entire family became
Christians and they have planted a church in their village. Please keep Cambodia
, its people, and the Christians there in your prayers."

This is the one and only true solution to the problem of terrorism and Islam.

I have read many prophetic words of great revivals in Muslim countries where God sovereignly and supernaturally visited these people. This is the first concrete story I have seen of these prophetic words being fulfilled.

MOST FITTING.

CONCUR.

Actually. . . I've experienced enough pain in this life--some of which I wouldn't wish on even Hitlery. . . .regardless of how well "earned." And, I've been on a kind of OBE trip to hell. . . and that's rather undescribable in normal terms.

In short, anyone made in God's image, I hate to see bite the dust, the evil critters eternally. . . . and no matter how much our rebellion mars the created image. . . His Blood has incredible redeeming power.

His Blood has incredible redeeming power

Amen. The Blood will never lose its power. Thank you, Jesus, for Your Blood.

Anyone who knows about Bill Bright knows he is not given to this sort of thing. He is a very level-headed Baptist who has been skeptical about miracles and other overt works of the Holy Spirit. That he is reporting these things lends tremendous credibility to these accounts.

Its easy to get caught up in all of the worlds ramblings and fear promotion, but we must remember, that is all they know!

As the world seems to be collapsing around us we must be aware that mighty spiritual things are also happening.
Something is about to break! and hard!!
There is more outporing of His miraculous power right now than there ever was during Bibical times. Jesus is doing alot
of amazing things in the earth and on every continent. Though you won't hear about
it on the nightly news or in the newspapers. You won't even hear about it in most mainstream
American denominations or in their publications. But the real news is that the whole of creation is begining to tremble (spiritually and physically) and it won't stop until only His Kingdom remains.

The reason I live without fear in these trying times is my complete trust in the Lord. I know where I am going. While I live life to it's fullest and do not seek death, I in no way fear it either. I look forward to the day I have eternal life. No God, No Peace. Know God, Know Peace.

Yes this story is from 1996, but this outpouring started almost 2000 years ago in Jeruselem and countinues to this day.
The current major outpourings began I believe in the early 1900's and has increased in intensity just in the past decade. I know a filmmaker who has documented the current outpouring accross the globe and even he when in Africa last spring could barely handle what he witnessed. Healings are taking place on a MASSIVE scale like none had ever seen. He saw children being raised from the dead and major grosteque skin diseases healed, and THOUSANDS encountering Christ in a major life chanching way. And as one who is usually eager to show his footage to anyone who will watch, this time he only showed the footage to a select few who had an awarness of Christ in such a way that it wouldnt offend their religious sensibilities.

This filmmaker has footage of children being raised from the dead, and healings on a massive scale, and yet only shows it to a select few? I would think such evidence would be a tremendous asset in proclaiming the gospel. Why not share it with the world?

His films are shown and available to the general public. What he filmed in Africa is on a scale of intensity that isnt very "pretty" . I dont know what he will do with the footage, I want to see it myself.
People (mostly christians) have had a hard enough time as it is whith the films he has out. Some of the manifesttions are hard to understand since we don't have an experiential context to put it in. It goes beyond church as usual.
The important thing is that Christ is drawing people all over the World unto himself in an very intimate way. He is an everlasting fountain of living water. Nothing will get in the way of his purposes.

It was deceptive to leave the date off the original post.

Shame.

I'm sorry that I missed this thread earlier. Glad I finally saw it.

Two years ago, in a missions course my wife and I were in, we had a speaker come for a week who had a lot of experience traveling around the Muslim world and working with people who are in many of these countries. He had many, many stories that were just incredibly exciting. Many times he simply repeated the gist of his message: Jesus is appearing all over the Muslim world.

As corroborating evidence, last year a leader of our mission told us that when he first joined our mission over 15 years ago, there were no known believers in Mauritania and no one seemd to know of any Mauritanians living in any countries where they might be able to hear the gospel. Their family began to pray regularly for that country and others did too.

Then Jesus began to appear to people. The first known believer in Mauritania was a teenaged girl, the daughter of an Imam, to whom Jesus appeared and spoke to reveal his identity. It was a few years before she got a Bible, but by then she was very familiar with the Lord due to his visits and the work of the Holy Spirit.

Today it is estimated that of the few hundred Christians now in Mauritania, about 75% came to Christ through a direct supernatural encounter with the Lord.

I have many more stories to tell of miracles occurring in the Muslim world for the purpose of revealing Jesus Christ to Muslims. But to me the most exciting occurred in our own home just last month when we had 2 Muslims from West African come and stay with us. After one week, both of them committed their lives to Christ and will soon be going back to the Middle East where they are university students. It was thrilling to be able to bring the gospel to these two precious young men.

Thanks but the link still doesn't work.  Please click the link and see if it works for you.  It has a space between "christian" and "world" and requires a dot or a space or an _ or something, or no space as in "christianworld".  If you were sent something by email the document may have existed and has now been removed because many things sent by email over and over again seem to have a life of their own whether they are true or not.  The fact that a prophecy or article or email may be popular may be a clue that it is not true.  Another clue to something being false is when it has a "feel good" sense about it and you find yourself going, "Oh, just what I wanted to hear."  We see "Harvest" coming, not "Revival" in the sense the church has known in the past; in fact, the Lord appearing the Muslims as this thread shows may be just that.  It would be a good idea to read Fox's Book of Martyrs.  This is good too:  Who will be saved?

If you have the article you could just post it, putting in a few of these <p> now and then.  Or you could post a line or two from it and we could search for it in google to see if it still exists.

When I have a chance I'll type up an awesome chapter from Ten Muslims Meet Christ.

This has been reported for a while, like you said above, in the underground church, usually after a prayer of desperation by a person, and many lost are coming to Christ.

Reminds me a bit of Paul being knocked off his horse
