A federal judge ruled Faisal al Salmi is a flight risk and will remain in custody until his trial.
He is accused of lying to the FBI about his relationship with a terrorist who died in the September 11th attack on the Pentagon.

Sure is dumb of them to pick Phoenix. There are 2 guns per capita in this town and we all know how to use them.

I went to the source. They said Salami went to flight training with one of the 9-11 hijackers. They said he lived in Mesa AZ, but didn't state whether he was a US citizen.
We can (and should) wage retribution in other parts of the world to those responsible and those who support terrorists. But, I gotta tell you that the terrorists who will comit future terror acts against us are already here.

Uh, I don't think this would stop a 757 at 400 MPH or a cab bomb, etc. No it wouldn't, unless of course the guy with the two guns was inside the airplane, unless you don't think armed skymarshalls and/or armed pilots could do the job. In the case of the cab bomb, and perhaps the 757 also, one might at least cause "premature detonation", denying the terrorist "mission completion" and thus his eternal virgins.

That's interesting. And remember, in a free nation one can rent an aircraft and pack it with explosives. So much for the sky Marshall.

No...that's Tucson. Mostly desert and I recently heard they had terrorist cells. Lots of us in PHX have actual grass in our yards and trees and everything! More agriculture up here or at least used to be.
