One of the most sickening things to me though was always these American leftists hanging around the Camino or Intercontinental in Managua waiting for some Sandy sponsored junket to go tour "a revolution in progress". They were your usual Berkley Birkies....all moon faced and ga-ga over "being a part of it". What a bunch of morons.

in all fairness to commies and their trucks.....Ladas suck no doubt but Nevas were fairly sturdy....bumpy as hell like a Land Rover Series model but they did hold up oddly. Let's see:

If I had seen Ed down there....I might not have been able to control myself. I really seriously sneered down all those freaks.....scruffy skinny dirty guys with berets...yes berets ala Che!..and fat chicks with hairy legs ...mostly from Smith or Skidmore I assume.

Their collective naivete completely floored me ....and I was still relatively a youngster myself (and an ex-liberal)....mid 20s and on. Even today occasionally I'll meet a lefty at a cocktail party (Vandy professor types) and I'll get to opining about living all over the 3rd world for 18 years.....and usually one of the lefty scum will ask me: " How did my consience deal with exploiting resources in this countries surrounded by such appalling poverty and suffering and war???"...after giving them a "go eat sh!t" look....I always explain to them that all those poor folks loved the hell outta me...why???.....because I meant jobs and money.

I gave up on the windmills long ago....except jousting with libertarian windmills on this forum that is.
