O'Reilly on Howard Stern This Morning
Howard Stern Radio Show | 11/15/01

Posted on 11/16/2001 1:17:08 PM PST by paltz

O'Reilly was on Stern this morning talking about The Red Cross, Clooney, The United Way, etc..., and Stern was agreeing with everything O'reilly did. In fact, O'Reilly was very complimentary toward Stern as was Stern to O'Reilly. 2 boys from the Island causing trouble in Hollywood. After all, it was Stern who called the Hollywooders chicken for running back to L.A. after 9/11. It turns out that Stern is a big watcher of the O' Reilly Factor.

Sorry that I missed it.

Now if we could only get Stern, the one-trick political pony, to quit making abortion a make or break issue for a candidate for office (he's pro-abortion).

Are you kidding me? Stern will only endorse pro-abortion candidates? Is O'Reilly pro-abortion? Certainly O'Reilly doesn't make that THE SINGLE defining issue for every singel candidate, like Stern does.

Good point, otherwise he's generally pretty good politically.

He can also be effective electorally.

That was suppsoed to be a statement not a question: STern does, in fact, only endorse pro-abortion candidates. If they're pro-life, then Stern doesn't endorse, and makes a big ballyhoo out of it.

He tried getting into "those issues" about his wife, but O'Reilly couldn't answer any personal questions, because of security issues. He said he was the one who brought down Jesse Jackson so....

Stern lost his TV gig and a great deal of audiance. Probably wants to ride O'Reilly's momentum a bit!

Is/was D'Amato pro-life? The main reson for that, as I recall, was that he didn't want all of New York's 'eggs in one basket' as I recall. His endorsement sure held sway in that election, though, eh? (/sarcasm)

They both stressed the responsiblity that celebrities have when soliciting their fans to donate to a charity (regarding the shenanigans by the Red Cross and United Way). Apparently George Clooney and others were in an uproar that a "nobody" like O'Reilly would tell them what to do.

O'Reilly said they all shut up after Stern went on the air and agreed with him. O'Reilly stated that celebrities really really fear the wrath of Stern and his listeners.

Howard Stern has collected over $4 million from his listeners, and it will go to the Twin Towers fund. 100% of the money the TT fund collected (they have no overhead) will go to the families of emergency workers killed.

believe it or not Stern was extremely helpful in getting GG Liddy on the air (his show is great)

Stern always struck me as an intelligent telented man who could not find a better avenue for his talent then the sleaze he normally deals in.

He would have been great as a conservative talk show host like Rush- but it is WAY too late for a conversion from him.

Oh, and I also disagree with him on abortion big time

The TV show that Stern lost had higher ratings than other shows in the same time slot the network had before. His radio ratings has dipped slightly because of the interest in recent events, but overall, in the last couple of years, the hoopla about him losing his audience is overblown according to the Arbitrons. Wishful thinking on the part of those who don't like him.
