To LarryLied:Tom Daschle is the MOST partisan pol since Geo.Mitchell!Doesn't his wife also have something to do with the airline industry that should preclude either him from serving on certain committees or her from lobbying??Sorry,I forgot, those "ethical"considerations apply only to Republicans, not DemoRats!!!

Unfortunately spousal influence peddling has become pervasive in Washington. I guess it's part of the women's rights movement.

What if this would have been say Mrs. Bush or a GOP senator's wife? Would the liberals be upset? I guess libs are the only ones who wouldn't be influenced by conflicts of interest.

Being a lobbyist is an OK way to cash in on hubbie's job, but not as good as being a lawyer. Just ask Hillary, former board member of Wal-Mart, extremely successful commodities trader via Tyson, etc...

As other replies have mentioned, Daschle and his wife have already used their political connections to commit a criminal offense. He used his political clout to force the forest service in his state to use a commuter airline with a terrible record--for whom she was a lobbyist. Two forest rangers were killed in a plane accident as a result. The inquiry was squelched, presumably on clinton's orders.

They are both proven slimeballs.

This is definitely a tie-in to national ID. I think that Daschle should have to exclude himself from all discussions and votes concerning airlines, airline security and National ID.

Buy a share - write as a shareholder - tell them how important a ntional ID system is to the security of the country - then tell them that using a democrapette mouthpiece is a bad decision.
Then write a real congresperson and tell them to kill the idea.

What is the reson for being in Parliament(Congress) if not to become rich ?

Let's look at it this way....if she has only been working for this company since, let's say, September 20th then it is definately time for an investigation into this company. But, if she has been working for this company for years, then it's time to wonder why Mr. D hasn't been lobbying for this. More money now, Mr. D?

South Dakota freeper bump! When will you rid us of this man?

(I should talk, you would think with the Florida state legislature dominated by Republicans and Jeb as governor, we could elect at least one Republican to the US Senate)

Am so sick and tired of daschle you cannot believe. Now I read this about his wife. I do not trust the daschle's at all and wouldn't be surprised this all has to do with a national ID!

The Lovely Lobbyist Linda cashes in.

No way....NO WAY is Daschle going to run for president! (Democrats been there, done that with Hillary)

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
