Tripp, who now lives in Middleburg, Va., had hoped to find another government job . . .

Tripp earned nearly $100,000 a year as a public affairs specialist . . .

With all due respect to Ms. Tripp, these two statements say more than anything else. If she can't earn even $50,000 in the private sector, then she has no business complaining about losing her government job.

This is what happens to Fed. Whitle Blowers. Clinton and Bush are both responsible for the retribution on Linda Tripp. They want to send out the word, it does not pay to squeal on the upper politicans.

It was good of Tripp to expose the corruption.

Too many in gov't, Tripp included, are paid WAY too much !

If you lose your high-paying job, you find another, or take employment at the best lower pay you can find; sitting around whining and wishing for another high paid gov't job is BS.If all she could find was a $25K job, then she should have taken it!!

If Tripp is really good enough to earn $100k at the gov't in public relations, you would think some private concern would hire her , UNLESS they are afraid of her releasing details of the corrupt business practices.

I sent Linda Tripp money for attorneys fees but this is crazy. The mortage payment on a 116,000 loan at todays rates is no big deal. I know because my son in law earns conseiderably less than a 100K a year yet manages to support his family of 5 and pay his mortgage.

She needs to get on with life.

Linda Tripp sadly will join the many who were exploited and used by others and then abandoned when they were no longer of use. Where is Lucianne, Isikoff, Coulter, the Jones Attorneys, Ken Starr, or any Republican member of Congress now? Whether you liked or disliked Linda Tripp her abandonment is truly dispicable. Encouraged by the likes of the Goldbergs and Isikoff she exposed herself criminally and suffered the consequences. While Lucianne has become a folk-hero to many, and several others have written bestselling books Tripp has received little from those who used her.

It is easy to fault Tripp. She should have questioned the motives of those who seemed extraordinarily anxious to entrap Lewinsky and Clinton. However, this is no excuse from those who failed her. She now can join the likes of Monica and Julie Steele who find themselves devastated financially by the events of 1998.

Tripp's story is a sad saga of those who believe that the means justify the ends only to find out the King was right that the means are inherent within the ends. She sought by illegal means to entrap and ultimately betraying a friend for the purpose of undermining the Presidency of the United States. She did this partly out of her own greed (the promised "book deal" that never really materialized) and partly at the request of people (Lucianne, Isikoff etc.) who had their own dubious agendas. When they were done with her and she was no longer of use but a liability they ditched her pronto. (Did anybody notice that Lucianne was never asked to testify before Starr's Grand Jury.) At the end Tripp was a person more to be pitied rather than scorned. Ironically she got her wish Clinton did leave office and that caused her job current unemployment (be carefull what you wish for).

Monica Lewinsky is alive because of Linda Tripp, the tapes and advising her for saving the stained dress made by the great stain maker, William Blyth Clinton.

Monica owes Linda her life.

Clinton surely would have had her killed in an accident like the many he had killed in Arkansas

I am sorry to hear this but she could have seen this coming awhile back. There are ways to avoid this.. Like sell it when she lost her job.

You have an interesting screen name. Back when the Monica story first broke I did an internet/data base search for both Monica and Linda Tripp's name. They both came back with a hit to an unprotected government data file called plumlist.html . It was a large list many screens across, thousands of positions, listing ALL politically appointed positions in the Clinton Administration with all kinds of info about the position either vacant or with the person in the position. At that time both Linda and Monica were classified as "Confidental Assistants". Just a little trivia for you.

Linda's new job is to mooching?? She's been asking for money since I heard of FreeRepublic. Enough is enough. Take Bush's advice, and move along Linda.

I'd like to remind some of the posters here about what this is all about. I think we all owe Linda Tripp something. Just ask yourselves, "Where would we be today without Linda Tripp?" Think about it for a few minutes.

I mean REALLY think about it!

Clinton would most probably have not gotten impeached. Having got away with it, he might have tried to pull more crap.

ALL OF US HERE would still be labled as a bunch of right wing conspiracy nuts who are out to get the poor president. None of us would be able to rightfully, legitimately and without hestitation be able to say to liberals that Clinton is a criminal liar. Every single scandal that the Clintons have been involved in would be passed off as just another mud-slinging attack. We would have no evidence that Clinton is a liar and untrustworthy. Personally I think Linda Tripp should have been given a medal! Do I even need to remind anyone here about the eight years of corruption, coverups, illegalities, fraud, and murder? I don't know about you guys, but during the Clinton regime, I lost a lot of sleep.

That's no joke.

I lost sleep wondering how on earth my fellow country men and women could support and stand up for Clinton. I lost sleep wondering how a criminal could be the lead law enforcement officer of the United States. I lost sleep at how people could just turn a blind eye to the wanton massacre of over 80 citizens in Waco. I lost sleep wondering how people in this country would just close ears to any and all evidence of profound wrong doings by the leader simply because the economy was good!

I firmly believe that history will vindicate us. Linda Tripp provided us with the proof.

It makes me sick to think that all of the crooks in the Clinton regime have gotten away with impunity while Linda Tripp suffers. She cannot get a job with any high profile company. The media made sure of that with her attempt to get a job with "The Stars and Strips" in Germany. I can just see her right now working at a gas station or convenience store. As soon as the media would find out, she would be out of a job. And Jay Leno and Saturday Night Live would have material to hammer her with.

What in the hell is the matter with some of you?! You don't like Linda Tripp because a couple of years ago she made $100,000 a year? You don't like her because a few years before that she engaged in gossip? How many of you could say that you haven't heard a rumor and told someone else? It almost seems to me that there are some people here who are looking for a reason to dislike Tripp.

I made a contribution to Linda's legal defense fund today. I'm ashamed that I didn't do it a long time ago. I wish that I could have sent her more. I don't blame her for not writing a book. The minute she does, the leftists in the press are going to crusify her again. Their going to say that the only reason that she acted as she did was so that she could sell books. Leno and Saturday Night Live will have another field day. We should all be supporting her!

Strange, as an owner-occupant she could borrow $116,000 on a 30 year note at 6.58% for a monthly payment of $739.00; surely she can arrange that.
