I prefer the simplicity of a revolver. I've tried to fire with the safety on during target practice, and would hate for something like that to happen if I ever
need a bullet to come out. I think safety's are unsafe. And I don't want to worry about jamming either, even if rare.
I've got a Ruger GP-100, .357 magnum, stainless steel, 4" barrel, adjustable sights, full shroud.

Your choice of a revolver is admirable. They are no-nonsense handguns and can be depended on to go "boom" every time. Besides, generally (and I only mean generally) revolver calibers pack a little more punch than their autoloading counterparts.
Good choice.

I've got the same model (blued). Next time I'll go with the six inch barrel. Harder to hit the bulls at 25 yards with the 4.

Baretta .40 ....That takes a while to get used to. Why, what do you mean. I've always lusted for a Beretta.

Do you think if I wore that on my hip, it would make my butt look big ?

Revolvers are more comfortable to carry. Especially while driving..

I'd need a right hand drive car (with automatic transmission) to shoot while driving :)

Besides, generally (and I only mean generally) revolver calibers pack a little more punch than their autoloading counterparts. How is that? A bullet is a bullet is a bullet. Right? I know barrell length, twist, etc. have a bit to do with performance, but how can revolver vs. auto make a difference?
I suppose some of the energy is used in an auto to eject the spent cartridge. I bet that's it. Thanks for the education.

That's very true, the six inch is amazingly accurate, but if the perp is 25 yards away, I'll probably just send a round or two his way and run.

Thanks for the thread! Nice, but I just bought my new baby, a Walther P99 in .40SW! They've done wonders with the double action trigger pull. Unfortunatley don't know how to post the photo....

Well then, you can just forget it....
Because they don't make left-handed revolvers..

You don't wear those on your hip. They are too tiny. You make a little chain (that will breakaway quickly) and wear them around your neck like a medallion.

You sure you're no, er, "compensating" with that thing?Thats a chick yer talking to. She don't gotta compensate for nuthin. :o)

I've got a Ruger GP-100, .357 magnum, stainless steel, 4" barrel, adjustable sights, full shroud.Change the grips if you plan to use a speedloader.
Before I put Hogue combat on mine I couldn't get most speedloaders to work well.
Now I shoot IDPA with it.

Laz - Those are Great! Personally though, my Sig .45 would probably stop someone quicker. But then there is always "harry's" gun.Oh, I agree. This is an OMG gun, as in "OMG I'm out of rounds on all my other carry pieces". It also is ideal for extremely surreptitious carry.
I personally wouldn't recommend shooting whilst driving. If you wanna be deaf for the rest of your life.
Besides, you really can't hit much with a pistol when you are behind the wheel of a moving vehicle.... except in a movie.

That is why you always have someone riding shotgun with a shotgun. Preferably with 3-1/2" supermag 18 pellet 00 buck.

Say, did you know you can give EIGHT GIFTS in the Hanukkah season? Say...so how does this work? Could I convert for awhile, long enough to snag the presents, and then convert back in time for Christmas? Could I, like, be both Jewish and Christian for long enough to clean up? Do Zoroastrians get presents too? Wiccans? Muslims? Druids? How the heck do I cash in?...???
