I can add a few more.

There will be a major hurricane hitting the gulf coast.(or Atlantic coast)

An earthquake will strike (Southern or Northern)California.

Fighting will break out between the Israelis and Palestinians.

A strong winter storm will paralyze the (pick one:Eastern seaboard; Midwest; Great plains; Rocky Mountain States; Sierras)

More of my predictions come true than those by the psychics in the Enquirer and those other tabloids. Hey! do you think I might be psychic?

#13 is clearly a NO. The GOP will not gain or lose any seats prior to 12/31/02. Regardless of the November election outcomes, the GOP and the Dems will have the same number of members on 12/31/02 as they do today (barring deaths and stuff). The newly elected members will not be inagurated until sometime in January 2003.

Just a little helping hand for those answering the questions.

1. Osama bin Layden will be at large.

Nope. No way...no how.

2. The Yankees will win the 2002 World Series

Duh. Of course they would...if you can't buy a world series for 170 million there is something wrong.

3. The GOP controls the Senate

Depends on the condition of the war and Bush's approval rating. I lean towards yes.

4. There is a new Pope

Yes

5. Amazon.com files for bankruptcy

Nope. Amazon may hit troubled waters...but they are very innovative over there

6. Strom Thurmond, Helen Thomas, AND Robert Byrd are ALL alive

I don't think Strom will hold out. But Helen will be with us when my daughter is President.

7. US AIR is still flying as an independent airline.

Yes.

8. There will be another terrorist incident inside the US

This is almost a given

9. Bill and Hillary Clinton are legally separated.

Nope. Bill is too good at fundraiseing and Hill needs the cash for the Dem 2004 ticket

10. Duke wins the 2002 NCAA mens basketball title

Sure, why not.

11. The DOW closes above 10,000 on 12/31/2002

I'd venture to say the Dow will close at 11500.

12. There is a new CONFIRMED Justice on the US Supreme Court

There will be a nominee, but no new justice. They will wait until the new congress seats before confirming.

13. The GOP gains 10 or more seats in the House

No.

14. Andrew Cuomo is the next Governor of New York

No

15. Yasser Arafat is still alive.

Yes

16. The HP/Compaq merger is cancelled.

yes

17. Saddam Hussein is still in power in Iraq

Yes...but not much further into 2003

18. The St. Louis Rams win the 2002 Super Bowl

Kurt Warner will throw 4 interceptions in the NFC championship game and lose to Chicago

19. Chandra Levy is found.

Never.

20. Fidel Castro is alive.

Yes

(NOTE: For whatever reason my computer is now allowing me to make paragraphs on this. Sorry!) 1. Osama bin Layden will be at large. NO. Will be found. Agree that he will go out in a blaze, possibly dirty nuke trap or something to take a lot of the Infedels with him. 2. The Yankees will win the 2002 World Series 3. The GOP controls the Senate NO: Demmies will get it by a seat or two. 4. There is a new Pope YES. Likely Italian. Feminists will clamor for woman (: 5. Amazon.com files for bankruptcy NO: They'll hang in there and in the long term survive. 6. Strom Thurmond, Helen Thomas, AND Robert Byrd are ALL alive NO: Strom will go bye bye. 7. US AIR is still flying as an independent airline. NOPE 8. There will be another terrorist incident inside the US YES: If you do a search on the web from various groups and pages with psychics, they all warn about danger to GWB and other leaders. However, this threat is a given. Washington is a dangerous city to live in and a prime target, it you put that, the dirty nukes together. Won't be an airplane this time. 9. Bill and Hillary Clinton are legally separated. No. Political reasons. I think the info in tabloids about recent turmoil in the marraige is true...but I think he needs her for additional limelight and she needs him for fundraising. 10. Duke wins the 2002 NCAA mens basketball title YEP 11. The DOW closes above 10,000 on 12/31/2002 YEP 12. There is a new CONFIRMED Justice on the US Supreme Court YEP. May veer more towards moderate-conservative definitely not full fledge conservative. 13. The GOP gains 10 or more seats in the House NOPE. Will hold as is. 14. Andrew Cuomo is the next Governor of New York YEP (unfortunately). 15. Yasser Arafat is still alive. Is he NOW? 16. The HP/Compaq merger is cancelled. YEP. 17. Saddam Hussein is still in power in Iraq YES. 18. The St. Louis Rams win the 2002 Super Bowl NO 19. Chandra Levy is found. NO. Eventually the truth will come out but she won't be found in 2002. 20. Fidel Castro is alive. YES. Unfortunately, he may outlive us all 21. (I ADD THIS VITAL ONE): David Letterman will overtake Jay Leno in ratings by the end of 2002. You choose the Cincy Reds...you must be a die hard from Nuxall country in Dayton. I'm from Cincy, too.

BTW, we both know that they don't have EVEN ONE starting pitcher who would star on any team he joined.

A great hitting team can make it with one strong starter, one strong reliever. Cincy has neither. A good/medium hitting team can do it with 2 strong starters and one strong reliever (Arizona).

Cincy just passed the trade deadline with nothing to speak of...a minor leaguer with prospects for the future.

...you must be a die hard from Nuxall country in Dayton. I'm from Cincy, too.

Naw, I'm a cowtown native, however, Marty and Joe are my two oldest and best friends, whom I have never met.

BTW, we both know that they don't have EVEN ONE starting pitcher who would star on any team he joined.

Yeah, I know...

A great hitting team can make it with one strong starter, one strong reliever. Cincy has neither.

Yeah, I know...

Yeah, I know...

Cincy just passed the trade deadline with nothing to speak of...a minor leaguer with prospects for the future.

Yeah, I know...

My reasoning in making this prediction is:
1. I really want the Reds to win

2. I think a healthy lineup will generate plenty of 9-7 victories.

3. I really want the Reds to win, it'd give me a major league case of the goo...

You are definitely a die-hard fan, aren't you?

I was in 2nd or 3rd grade when Rose was a rookie. Wish they'd put him in the Hall of Fame.
