How about a Freeper Postal Match?

If you are not familiar with the term, "Postal" dosen't mean shooting up a post office. It is a means for shooters in different parts of the country to compete against each other in a contest of marksmanship.

Shooters are mailed numbered targets which they shoot, at agreed upon distances, times and calibers. The targets are returned via the mail (hence "postal") and scored. Obviously, the honor system comes into play here.

I think it would be interesting to do amongst ourselves. Any takers?

Hmmmm. If you're loading enough gunpowder to leave powder burns at 1000 meters, you can save money by taping the previous target to your shoulder, and letting the recoil self-deliver it.

Actually that is exactly what I had in mind. I purposely left it wide open just to see what kind of interest there was.

Personally, I would like to enter a 25 yd. / two caliber / 60 shot (10 slow/10 timed/10 rapid) match, but feel free to make other suggestions.

I get it even if r9 does not.

I think powder burns on any target (except maybe bayonet target dummies) should be automatically disqualified! LOL

I'm all for it. To save time in deciding on targets just use NRA standards. Just make sure the Freepers understand the difference between feet and yards. Pistols and rifles should be unmodified in any way and out of the box. I would suggest a handgun match because of the problems of variables in rifles. I doubt most of the people here own unmodified service rifles.

I likewise shoot blackpowder and like the idea in general. Would love to field pistol, rifle, and blackpowder entries. I think there ought to be age groups so the youngsters can be involved competively among themselves. Of course there is always the sex thing, but I never said it.

Count me in!

You mean a shooting-whilst-having-sex thing? Has that ever been done before? What's the distance to the target? Hmmm....
