Sure. Someone has to come in dead last. At 25 yards with a pistol, I'll be lucky to hit paper.

I was thinking of leaving it open until the end of February to allow us cold weather outdoor shooters a better chance of finding a decent weekend. Sounds good - I know what you mean by cold weather - it might get down to 34 degrees tonight in Georgia - whew! During the day I may have to wear long sleeves!!! ;)

Hey, its not just Georgia. I had to scrape ICE of of my windsheid two mornings ago before work. In SW Florida, ice is most commonly found in your favorite beverage, not on your car! Had to find a scraper for the first time in 8 years.

To date, only about four of you have freepmailed me to sign up.
Registration will be open until January 18th.
Targets will be mailed out Monday, January 21st or Tuesday the 22nd.
All targets must be fired and postmarked by February 26th.
I will be paying for targets and postage to you, so please don't enter unless you can compete.
Some good news (for the rest of you): I was able to get out and practice Saturday - I was awful - I havn't shot in competition in eight or nine years and it shows.
Revised rules follow:
- Targets: NRA B-2 Slow fire pistol targets.
- Equipment: .22 caliber rimfire pistol and centerfire pistol of any caliber. Semi-auto or revolver.
- Open sights only - no optics, red-dots or lasers. Maximum sight radius 10".
- Distance: 25 yds. Indoor or outdoor
- Course of fire: 30 rounds with each pistol. Six targets / Ten shots each.
- Time: 10 rounds fired within Twenty minutes / 5 rounds within 20 seconds (twice - same target) / and 5 rounds in 10 seconds. (twice - same target)
- Position: Any standing freehand (no leaning on stationary objects) position, single or double-handed, is acceptable; wheelchair or other disabled persons may, of course, make the necessary modifications to this rule.
- Scoring: If bullet hole (not secondary paper tears) touches ring, higher score is assigned.
- Tibreakers: Number of X-ring hits, then minimum overall group size
- Categories: Best overall score, Best rimfire, Best Centerfire, Smallest group.
- Other Rules: Obey all local laws and shoot safely.
- Sign, date and return your target.
- Prizes: The satisfaction of having your name and score posted on FR

Only four, c'mon guys, if I'm going to embarass myself, lets at least make it interesting.
And besides, good markmanship (or in my case at least faking it well) pisses off liberals and scares tyrants... what more could you ask for?

You have freepmail with my address.
Thanks for heading this up.

What a neat idea !!!! Good one NY.SS-Bar9!!
To: NY.SS-Bar9, All
I suggest that everyone send a small donation to NY.SS-Bar9 with returned targets. This is to cover his costs for targets, etc. and a six-pack of his favorite brewski for being the administrator of this event.

As of 1/15/02, we have 11 participants.
I stopped in to my gun store and they think they can get me 100 targets for $5.00 - That will cover 16 of us. I have no idea what postage will be - but it can't be more than a couple of dollars each.
At this point, I have no problem picking up the tab. The next round can be on you guys (and girls).

I was thinking about spreading the word to the others who post on the bang list but 16 people sounds right especially since you don't know how much it's going to cost. I'm not surprised to learn that out of the 300 posts that we get anytime someone asks what kind of gun to guy, only a handful care to test themselves. I hope the guy who shoots tar buckets at 440 yards standing up with a pistol signed up. It should get interesting.

Very generous of you NY; I for one will be more than happy to contribute in kind to the rifle match when it warms up for you folks up north.<P
